As a Cutter you will be responsible to operate the cutting and seaming machinery to cut flat glass sheets to specified dimensions and shapes, ensuring precision and quality in every cut.



Duties and Responsibilities:



Operate automated glass cutting and seaming equipment to cut flat glass according to work orders and specifications in both imperial and metric units. Operate automated glass seaming and arising equipment to seam glass edges to remove imperfections from cutting a and safety. Ensure proper labeling of cut-glass pieces for identification and tracking purposes. Adjust machine settings for different glass types, thicknesses, and cutting patterns according to Standard Operating Procedures and Working Instructions. Assist in loading/unloading glass sheets whenever required and organizing finished products. Perform routine operational maintenance and cleaning of cutting and seaming equipment. Troubleshoot any issues with the equipment, per the Work Instructions (WIs) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). Maintain accurate production logs, including machine settings, production quantities, and any quality control checklists or adjustments. Notify management of any deviations in production quality, performance, or other roadblocks and implement corrective actions as directed. Communicate clearly and effectively with team members and management to ensure seamless operations and timely production. Ensure all operations are performed in compliance with the SOPs, WIs, company safety protocols, and regulatory requirements. Follow all safety protocols and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) while working with machinery and glass products and components; encourage a culture of safety on the production floor. Maintain a clean and organized work area, following housekeeping standards to promote safety and efficiency. Comply with industry regulations, safety standards, and company policies in all aspects of the job. Perform additional duties as assigned by supervisors or management to support overall production goals and operational needs.

Required Qualifications:



Good communication skills to interact with team members and management. Ability to stand throughout entirety of shift. Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds frequently and throughout entirety of shift. Ability to perform repetitive tasks, in a continuous manner, in a fast paced environment including lifting and extending arms through entirety of shift. Ability to accurately use and read tape measures in both Imperial and Metric units. Ability to read and interpret drawings and blueprints. Attention to detail and adherence to safety protocols. Experience in a manufacturing or production environment, preferably in the glass or window manufacturing or fabrication industry is an asset.
