Purileaf is a cannabis company located in Niagara Falls, Canada, licensed for standard processing under Canada's federal Cannabis Act and its Regulations (purileaf.ca). Purileaf core business operations include contract processing and co-packing for other licensed producers ("LPs"), as well as the manufacture of premium cannabis oil and extract-based products for commercialization across Canada.

We are seeking a reliable responsible individual to join our team as an Extraction and Purification Technician.

The Extraction and Purification Technician will be responsible for carrying out distillation, crystallization, and isolation processes to produce high-quality cannabinoid extracts. This position requires a strong commitment to safety, precision, and cleanliness while working with chemicals and production equipment in a GMP-compliant facility.

Key Responsibilities

Production Operations

Perform distillation, crystallization, and isolation
processes according to SOPs.

Operate, monitor, and maintain processing equipment (distillation units, crystallizers,
vacuum pumps, filtration systems).

Record accurate batch data, process parameters, and yields.

Chemical Handling & Safety

Handle chemicals, solvents, and raw materials safely,
following WHMIS/GHS standards and internal safety policies.

Wear appropriate PPE and follow all health, safety, and sanitation protocols.

Assist with safe chemical
storage, spill response, and proper waste disposal.

Equipment & Facility
Maintenance

Clean, sanitize, and assemble equipment and glassware to
maintain GMP compliance.

Assist with basic
equipment troubleshooting and preventive maintenance tasks.

Keep work areas organized and free of contamination risks.

Physical Requirements

Stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks
safely.

Lift, push, and pull up to 50 lbs as needed.

Work efficiently in a fast-paced production environment
with minimal supervision.

General Knowledge & Skills

Technical Knowledge: Basic understanding of chemistry,
laboratory techniques, and solvent recovery processes.

Safety: Knowledge of WHMIS/GHS standards, PPE requirements,
and safe chemical handling procedures.

Compliance: Familiarity with Good Manufacturing Practices
(GMP) and Good Documentation Practices (GDP).

Attention to Detail: Ability to follow written SOPs and maintain accurate records.

Teamwork & Communication: Strong interpersonal skills,
ability to work both independently and collaboratively.

Basic Math Skills: Ability to weigh, measure, and calculate
with accuracy.

Education & Experience Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent required; post-secondary
education in chemistry, biology, or related field preferred.

Prior experience in laboratory, extraction, or
pharmaceutical/food manufacturing environment is an asset.

Training in WHMIS/GHS and familiarity with GMP production
environments preferred (can be provided upon hire).

Work Environment

Production environment with exposure to solvents, heat, and
noise.

Must wear company-provided PPE (lab coat, gloves, goggles,
respirator when required).

Work may involve weekends or shift schedules depending on
production needs.
