We are seeking a highly technical, hands-on problem solver to work in a Technician role as part of our growing team. Our ideal candidate will be accustomed to working in fabrication and assembly settings. They will be able to prioritize multiple concurrent projects and be passionate about doing so in a clean and organized manner. The cleanliness of our facility is paramount to the quality of our products. While it will continue to be a team effort, our ideal candidate can take ownership of their work and delegate when appropriate. This role is integral to our success as we commercialize our core product. The ideal person for this role is enthusiastic to step into this position and grow with us.

What Will You Do



Working closely with our Assembly Lead, you will have the opportunity to build some of the most advanced scientific equipment in the world. We expect you to ask questions, learn, be open to growth, and attend technical training as required. Some of your core duties will include:

Build gas handling systems, assemble dilution refrigerators, fabricate heat exchangers. Follow order-of-assembly protocols to manufacture automated cryogenic assemblies including pumps, sensors, valves, PLCs, networks, tubing, and pipe. Neatly route, label, and terminate wires between connectors and terminals. Solder and crimp pin-style electrical connectors for control and network wiring and low temperature coax. Polish, clean, and gold plate assemblies. Take measurements using a tape measure, caliper, and micrometer. Be primarily responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of the clean assembly bay. Complete shop duties such as setup, organization, inventory, etc. Use Odoo to record all steps of manufacturing, quality control and inventory moves. Gain a better understanding of our ERP, Odoo, and identify improvements in manufacturing and quality control. Use Odoo and google workspace to complete administrative tasks including populating product bill of materials based on your as-built product. Install, test, and troubleshoot electrical, instrumentation, and process equipment. Fabricate small process components using cutting, shaping, soldering, brazing, and fastening. Read manufacturer's manuals, drawings, and quality control specifications for assembly procedures. Other related duties as assigned by your supervisor. Duties may change during your term of employment as needed by your supervisor.

Qualifications



Experience sourcing technical materials for electrical, mechanical, and instrumentation, or other applications. Instrumentation or electrical ticket would be considered an asset but is by no means a requirement. Vacuum and/or refrigeration experience. Electrical/mechanical shop or similar assembly experience. Excellent time-management and task-prioritization. Documentation skills to create internal and external documentation relating to your work. Experience in the use of an electrical meter for testing and commissioning/start-up of equipment in an industrial automation setting. Practical experience performing calculations to select products as an Instrumentation Designer would be considered an asset. Intermediate or greater experience using Autodesk Inventor, Microsoft office and google workspace. Ability to perform daily planning and organizational practices while working with a high-degree of independence and integrating cohesively within the team. Ability to think critically, think analytically, multitask, prioritize duties, and quickly assume new tasks as required. A valid passport (or the ability to get one) and the ability to pass security clearance checks for installing dilution refrigerators in our customers' facilities.

Familiarity with various types of fasteners, wiring, materials, and chemicals. Ability to take accurate dimensional measurements using a variety of measuring tools. Excellent work history and solid references. Ability to lift 30 kg, work overhead and work in confined spaces inside the control cabinet. A valid driver's license.
