Production Team Leader-Supervisor

Supervises and coordinates activities of all production workers in the performance of their duties in support of the production processes.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Reviews production orders or schedules to ascertain product data such as types, quantities and specifications of products and scheduled delivery dates to plan Department operations.
• Develops plans for efficient use of material, machines and employees.
• Plans production operations, establishing priorities and sequences for manufacturing products.
• Inspects machines and equipment to ensure specific operational performance and optimum utilization
• Inspect products to verify conformance to specifications and directs set-up and adjustments of machines.
• Interprets company policies to workers and enforces safety regulations, and takes disciplinary action when necessary
• Establishes or adjusts work procedures to meet production schedules when equipment breaks down - and arrange repairs to machinery immediately by contacting the maintenance or outside help as per Contingency plan
• Maintains time and production records
• Confers with other Shift Supervisors and coordinates production to ensure product is ready prior to shipping window.
• Responsible as the \xe2\x80\x9cDesignated Person\xe2\x80\x9d for the Emergency Response Plan
• Compliance with the Company\'s Integrated Management Systems which includes, but is not limited to Production, Quality, Food Safety & GMP.
• Compliance with the company\'s Health, Safety, and Environmental requirements.

PROFILE:

• Two year College or Technical school Diploma or equivalent of two years experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience in a supervisory role.
• Experience with manufacturing and quality systems and their applications in a production environment.
• Understanding of safety and other applicable laws, a proven record of continuous improvement in quality productivity, safety and housekeeping.
• Strong interpersonal/organizational and communication skills. Strong computer skills
• Knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act and how its relations to manufacturing
• Good knowledge of Quality Control, GMP\xe2\x80\x99s and HACCP rules
• Ability to multi-task

EMPLOYMENT CONDITIONS :

• Type of contract : Full Time Permanent \xe2\x80\x93 42 hours a week \xe2\x80\x93 12 hours shifts
• Work shifts : rotation of 15 days of Day Shift ( 7 am to 7 pm ) and then 15 days of Night Shift ( 7 pm to 7 am)
• Starting date : As soon as possible
• The position is based in Etobicoke, in Toronto West end (nearest major intersection is Gardiner Expressway & Kipling Avenue).
• Our site is served by two TTC transit bus lines, running 7 days a week, all day (12 min bus ride to Kipling subway, 15 min bus ride to Islington station).
