Job Summary:

Reporting to the Production Manager, the Production Team Lead will facilitate and direct the workload within their respective departments to ensure the achievement of company objectives regarding on-time shipments, product quality, labour efficiency, material efficiency, and customer service.

Job Responsibilities:

The Production Team Leader is responsible for the following:

Act as a knowledgeable resource for internal Allseating customers with respect to Production related issues and concerns; Monitor and ensure adherence to production schedules and deadlines; Maintain high standards of Out of Box Quality (OOBQ) by conducting regular quality checks and coaching team members; Drive On-Time Delivery (OTD) performance by identifying and resolving bottlenecks in real-time related to the daily production schedule; Identify and control hazards in the workplace to promote a safe work environment; Ensure all hourly employees understand and adhere to safety policies and procedures; Coordinate production activities within specific departments to ensure the efficient use of labour, a high level of quality control, and on-time delivery; Ensure all work orders are completed on time as per production schedule; Identify and resolve production issues (process, quality, material shortages, etc), escalating as necessary; Report daily production results through end of shift report; Maintain a clean and organized work environment; Support implementation of Lean and 5S initiatives; Actively participate in, and promote, continuous improvement programs to increase efficiency and reduce waste; Ensure all company QMS are upheld (i.e.: ISO 14001, ISO 9001:2008, BIFMA, etc); Report daily absences of employees to Production Management and/or Human Resources; Approve vacation and leave of absence requests; Motivate, coach, and provide feedback to production employees; Conduct orientation for temporary associates and arrange for their training; Assist in the training and on-going learning process of all production employees/associates; Participate in applicable training programs and information sessions as requested by the company; Maintain a clean work environment; Adhere to all company and government legislated policies and procedures; and Other duties as required.

Job Requirements:

Must have strong leadership and supervisory skills; Must have strong communication skills (written and verbal); Must have strong interpersonal skills with the ability to coach and mentor others; Must be proficient in Microsoft Office; Must be capable of using discretion and taking a proactive approach to problem solving; Must be committed to team work; and Must have the ability to work and think independently.

Minimum Qualifications:

Degree or Diploma in a related discipline; Demonstrated experience supervising employees and mentoring employees; Demonstrated experience upholding ISO 9001 requirements and standards; and Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, TQM, and Continuous Improvement.
