Role Summary

The Team Leader is responsible to support the Team Members in the performance of their duties focusing on safety, people, quality, productivity and all company/regulatory policies, standardized work and procedures.

**The successful candidate for this role will work at our new Magna Structures Heart Lake facility located in Brampton, ON**

Key Responsibilities

• Run line/area to meet production targets and departmental goals and objectives.
• Practices, promotes and implements departmental continuous improvement initiatives
• Fosters positive work relationships with peers, direct reports and leaders
• Provides formal and informal feedback and/or coaching to Team Members, utilizing the Work History Card, to promote accountability and development
• Provides feedback to Area Leaders regarding Team Member performance, including participating in the Performance Appraisal process
• Issues formal discipline to counselling
• Leads pre-shift meetings (T1/T2, etc.) and prepares documentation to support the meeting
• Facilitates cross -training to maximize flexibility
• Enters Team Members hours or absence codes into Time & Attendance
• Documents hourly counts on production analysis sheets
• Documents and dispositions all non-conforming material.
• Conducts on the job training following standardized work process
• Conducts shop floor Orientations
• Enters Material Disposition Reports (MDRs) into Modanet
• Submits data on the cost of poor quality
• Performs layerd audits as per procedure and follows up on non-conformances.
• Participates in Fast Response meetings
• Troubleshoots equipment problems to ensure quality and efficiency.
• Assign work schedules including overtime
• Assists Area Leader in conducting Team/ Safety Talks.
• Performs duties of Team Members for absences and relief.
• Follows and complies with all Operational Procedures and Policies as outlined in the Team Member Handbook, Quality and Environmental programs (ie. IATF 16949, ISO14001)
• Understands, promotes and lives by Magna\'s philosophies and the Employee Charter
• Operate in a safe manner and adhere to all legislative requirements under the OHSA (including section 27 - Responsibilities of Supervisor).
• Performs other duties as required

Key Qualifications/Requirements

• Minimum of one (1) year manufacturing experience, preferably automotive
• Previous experience as a Production Team Lead in Training or similar experience is required
• Strong organizational skills
• Solid leadership skills
• Demonstrated ability to use basic Math and English, with proven ability to read written instructions
• Able to communicate clearly in English, both written and verbally, to all levels of the organization
• Proficient in Microsoft Office
• Good attention to detail
• Ability to work independently with a sense of urgency to achieve results
• Ability to uphold confidentiality
• Demonstrates the ability to work effectively in a team environment
• Ability to work overtime to meet customer needs
