Position Overview
Reporting to the Production Manager, the
Production Supervisor
is responsible for leading and managing a team of welders, fitters, machine operators, and painters on a designated shift within a steel fabrication facility. This role ensures the successful execution of fabrication schedules while upholding strict quality, efficiency, and safety standards. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical knowledge, leadership, and a continuous improvement mindset to drive productivity and enhance workforce capabilities.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Execution:
Direct and supervise all shift activities including welding, fitting, machining, and coating operations.
Ensure fabrication schedules are met on time and within quality and efficiency parameters.
Enforce operational adherence to AISC/ISO standards and best practices.
Quality Assurance & Technical Oversight:
Monitor weld quality, joint tolerances, and the effectiveness of primer application.
Interpret welding symbols and blueprints to support production accuracy.
Optimize fixture setup and technical applications to boost output and reduce rework.
People Management & Development:
Lead, mentor, and evaluate shift personnel with a strong focus on multi-skill development and safety compliance.
Conduct training sessions, performance reviews, and disciplinary actions as needed.
Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous learning.
Real-Time Problem Solving:
Address and resolve production issues promptly, including process inefficiencies, equipment malfunctions, and quality deviations.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement corrective actions and improve overall process flow.
Qualifications
High school diploma required; technical certification or diploma in manufacturing, welding, or related field preferred.
Minimum 2-3 years of supervisory experience in steel fabrication or heavy manufacturing.
Proficient in blueprint reading, welding symbols, and fabrication processes.
Strong understanding of safety protocols and quality assurance standards (AISC, ISO, etc.).
Proven leadership, team building, and communication skills.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, production-driven environment with minimal supervision.

: Day Shift, Monday to Thursday 5:00am to 5:15pm
May be required to work additional hours based on plant needs
Manufacturing floor environment with exposure to heat, noise, dust, and industrial equipment.
Requires standing, lifting, and walking throughout the shift.
