POSITION SUMMARY: This position is responsible for the Plant Operations. Direct functions include scheduling, production, inventory, shipping, monitoring expenses & supervising employees. The Supervisor is focussed towards attaining the annual manufacturing & delivery plans, which include expense budgets, productivity improvements, inventory levels and supervision of employees. The Supervisor will also be responsible for leading ISO and Lean management initiatives at the site. This contributes to KPI (KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS), which is the key measurement in the incentive plan for all employees. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS 1. Set the tone for good Health and Safety practices within this location in line with Policy. 2. Attain annual manufacturing expense plans and inventory targets. 3. Liaison with the Engineering Group, Purchasing Manager to ensure alignment of goals to meet or exceed company goals. 4. Manage and evaluate machine resources to ensure maximum productivity and minimal downtime. 5. Establish and maintain effective communication regarding labour and product with GM and Senior Management team. 6. Report monthly to the GM, deviations from plan. 7. Continue to lead and improve our ISO and Lean Management programs. 8. Supervision of teams; staffing, orientation, performance management, retention, succession planning, employee relations 9. Assist in the recruitment and hiring process. 10. Monitor Expenses. 11. Ensure products are produced and delivered in a timely manner satisfying customer demands. 12. Play a significant role in long-term planning, geared to operational excellence. PRIMARY INTERACTIONS The Plant Supervisor reports to the General Manager. Reporting to the Supervisor are the plant employees and lead hands. Communication with all employees on a regular basis is vital to the operation. WORKING CONDITIONS \xc2\xb7 Physical Effort \xe2\x80\x93 The Supervisor should be spending time in the plant, helping with inventory counts, training, changeovers, and trials. \xc2\xb7 Physical Environment \xe2\x80\x93 Office 75%. Plant 25 % of each day. \xc2\xb7 Sensory Attention \xe2\x80\x93 Health & Safety, Communication, listening skills. SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES \xc2\xb7 10+ years Manufacturing Environment \xc2\xb7 Strong problem-solving with exceptional prioritization skills. \xc2\xb7 Previous experience of having managed a range of support functions & demonstrating leadership skills with the ability to improve organizational effectiveness. \xc2\xb7 Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Acrobat. \xc2\xb7 Excellent communication, organizational and administration skills, including editing and a keen attention to detail. \xc2\xb7 Demonstrate a positive and professional attitude. \xc2\xb7 Ability to work effectively within a group as well as independently motivated with minimal supervision.
