We are seeking an experienced Production Supervisor to oversee daily batch manufacturing operations in a GMP-regulated environment. This role is responsible for leading production teams, ensuring efficient and compliant batch execution, coordinating with cross-functional departments, and supporting new product development and scale-up activities. The ideal candidate has strong leadership skills, technical manufacturing knowledge, and excellent attention to detail.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead end-to-end batch manufacturing operations in compliance with GMP and SOPs.
Coordinate daily with Operations, QA, QC, R&D, Warehouse, Maintenance, and Filling teams.
Review and update SOPs, work instructions, and production forms.
Ensure accurate and timely completion of batch records, cleaning logs, and equipment logs.
Address non-conformances, deviations, CAPA, and audit findings with QA/QC.
Execute scheduled batches, assign workstations, and supervise production personnel.
Support new product development and scale-up from R&D to commercial production.
Operate batching PLC systems and oversee batch adjustments.
Verify raw material weights and batch ticket information.
Assist with OOS investigations, change controls, and corrective/preventive actions.
Optimize manpower, materials, and equipment allocation for efficient production.
Qualifications Required
3-5 years of relevant production experience in cosmetics, pharmaceutical, OTC, or chemical manufacturing (or a similar regulated industry).
Strong understanding of GMP, batch processes, and regulated manufacturing environments.
Proven experience supervising production teams.
Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to interpret batch records, troubleshoot issues, and support investigations.
Comfortable working with PLC systems (asset).
Excellent attention to detail and documentation accuracy.
Ability to lift 25-50 lbs and work in a manufacturing environment.
Preferred
Diploma or Degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related field.
Experience with OTC manufacturing or Health Canada/FDA-regulated production.
Knowledge of CAPA, OOS, non-conformance handling, and audits.
Experience with process scale-up from R&D to production.
Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma certification (asset).
