Production Supervisor

Job Description


Reporting to the Production Director, you will be responsible for establishing, harmonizing, and implementing procedures and planning processes for production, inventory management, certification requirements, quality control and management reporting. You will also participate in the the training and development of the production workers.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement methods to achieve departmental objectives and maintain quality and customer standards/expectations.
  • Direct and coordinate production workforce and motivates them for maximum productivity.
  • Coach, train, and assist employees to help them perform their job functions more safely, productively, and efficiently.
  • Lead workers in continuous improvements designed to improve workplace safety and productivity.
  • Coach and discipline workers as needed and conducts probationary and annual performance appraisals.
  • Manage workers attendance in accordance with company policies and procedures.
  • Advise, support and discipline workers.
  • Identify and provide solutions to various problems and situations and ensure proper maintenance of machinery.
  • Participate in the health and safety Committee and ensure that the department under his/her supervision complies with established safety protocols and company policies.
  • Ensure that product quality standards and delivery deadlines are met, taking into account various production-related factors.
  • Conduct Sunrise meetings and weekly safety talks.
  • Prepare production reports, complete backboxes and keep inventory up to date.
Requirements:
  • College diploma in management and/or equivalent experience of at least 3 to 5 years.
  • General mechanical knowledge.
  • Must be bilingual (French and English), both spoken and written.
  • Understanding of Spanish (an asset).
  • Computer skills and knowledge of various software programs (e.g. Excel, Word, etc.).
  • Ability to work in collaboration with other colleagues and in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to do shift rotation.
