About the Role
Reporting to the
Plant Manager
, you will oversee daily production operations, ensuring your team meets performance, quality, and safety goals. You will use your
LEAN Manufacturing knowledge
and
leadership skills
to optimize processes, minimize downtime, and improve operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities
Lead and motivate the production team, ensuring safety, quality, and productivity goals are achieved.
Schedule personnel and optimize workflow by managing personnel, equipment, and process steps to reduce waste and downtime.
Conduct daily safety and production meetings emphasizing compliance and teamwork.
Monitor product quality and immediately address any issues in collaboration with Quality Control.
Facilitate problem-solving and root cause analysis with Operators and Maintenance staff.
Maintain LEAN principles: 5S, autonomous maintenance, SOP compliance, and continuous improvement.
Ensure operators complete pre-production, operational, and shutdown checklists.
Prepare detailed downtime and performance reports at the end of each shift.
Coach and develop team members through feedback, mentoring, and structured training.
Collaborate with Maintenance, Quality, and Warehouse teams for alignment on production priorities.
Support maintenance days with autonomous maintenance and housekeeping tasks.
Foster a positive, respectful culture built on accountability and teamwork.
Qualifications & Experience
Minimum
3 years of supervisory experience
in a
chemical manufacturing
environment.
Strong understanding of
LEAN Manufacturing
and continuous improvement practices.
Technical or mechanical background preferred.
Experience in troubleshooting, data analysis, and optimizing equipment reliability.
Proven ability to coach and build high-performing teams.
Excellent communication, organization, and documentation skills.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office; exposure to maintenance or ERP systems is an asset.
Experience in a
unionized setting
is considered an advantage.
