Experienced at overseeing the day-to-day operations in the production and shipping/receiving departments.

Familiar at conducting weekly meetings with staff to keep them updated on plant changes.

Experienced at dealing with employees' requests (e.g., sick and vacation requests).

Comfortable working with computers to input payroll hours into the system weekly.

Experienced with SAP inventory system.

Familiar at participating and supporting joint health and safety committees, emergency committees.

Experienced at assisting or leading in the reduction of Health and Safety risks and hazards through continuous improvement projects.

Production Supervisor

General Duties:

Know and abide by the company GMP policy.

When equipment breaks down, inform Plant Manger

Work as a team player to promote efficient operation. Help others when they are in a difficult situation.

Work in a safe and responsible manner and lead by example.

Maintain good housekeeping in the work area.

Perform other duties when assigned by Plant Manager

Specific Duties:

Staff grading machine to make sure the work is covered and keep staffing at the correct level to ensure proper costing.

Oversee the day-to-day operations in the grading department and help with the shipping receiving department as required.

Conduct weekly meetings with staff to keep them updated on plant changes.

Deal with all sick/vacation requests and input hours into the payroll system weekly.

Run the Sap inventory system and confirm what our daily grading plans will be based on the customer demand.

Assist with our Health and Safety and Food Safety programs.

Attend all meetings as required.

Help with Period end counts as required.

General Health & Safety Responsibilities:

Know and abide by the company safety policy.

Work safely around moving equipment and machinery.

Know where the emergency stop buttons and switches are located in case of dangerous or jamming situation.

Maintain covers and guards etc. on all moving parts.

Following proper lifting techniques at all times.

Hearing protection and steel toe safety footwear must be worn in the plant.

Responds to all serious incidents to ensure that proper investigation, reporting and follow up is completed.

PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:



Identifies potential or actual areas of noncompliance through audits and inspections.

Participate and support joint health and safety committees, emergency committees, etc

Reporting to the National Director Health and Safety while assisting in the roll out of corporate initiatives, new safety training programs, procedures.

Assists and leads in the reduction of Health and Safety risks and hazards through continuous improvement projects

Supports Operations in all Safety related functions, including, but not limited to: On Boarding, Work Refusals, Return to Work, Safety Talks and Messages, Recognition, Data Analysis, Coaching, Equipment Processes and Modifications, Participate in Meetings.

Responds to all serious incidents to ensure that proper investigation, reporting and follow up is completed.

Works with HR/OSI to ensure early and safety return to work for all employees as per WSIB

Ensures appropriate records and documentation are kept - Training records

Provides leadership to the JHSC, participating as a Management Representatives

Ensures that personal protective equipment is provided and being utilized, and all applicable record keeping is up to date - approval first

WORK EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS



3 + years experience progressive experience in H&S roles

Post-secondary diploma or degree in a relevant field

CRSP designation, preferred

Previous experience in a similar work environment

Extensive knowledge of H&S legislation

Proven ability to build relationships and gain buy-in from stakeholders

Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
