This position will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of a flour production plant in Montreal during the various shifts. This position will be responsible for production logistics, receipt of raw materials, shipment of finished products, coordination of the sanitation and pest control program, as well as all other related tasks related to the smooth running of the plant\'s activities. This position reports to the Plant Manager.Duties and ResponsibilitiesHealth & Safety:As a front-line collaborator, ensure that the work environment is safe for all employees, contractors and visitors present on siteDemonstrate a personal commitment to health and safetySupport and continue to develop the team\'s commitment to health and safetyIdentify and implement the tools necessary for a safe work environmentFollow ADM\'s health and safety standards and report unsafe behaviors or conditionsEnsure that all employees at all levels take responsibility and follow the rules.Food Quality & Safety:Collaborate with departments to maintain an environment that ensures customers receive a healthy and safe product for consumptionResponsible for ensuring that finished products are shipped to required specifications, while ensuring that quality assurance and food safety programs are applied and adhered toWork with the quality department to proactively identify, address and correct any situations that may impact food quality and safetyCollaborate with departments to meet customer expectations.Sanitation & Pest Control:Conduct weekly inspections, view various indicators and trends related to insect control, investigate potential problems, and recommend or implement corrective actionsCollaborate, coordinate and ensure the completion of daily and weekly cleaning tasks for the entire plant with departmentsManagement and follow-up of the recommendations of the mandated company against pest controlAct as a pivotal person, in collaboration with the company mandated for pest control during fumigation or other treatments.Profitability and production efficiencyActively collaborate in the management of plant operations, including but not limited to:Reduce costs and ensure optimization of production equipmentReducing or eliminating barriers to productionReduction and elimination of lossesAsset Management & PreservationQuality of the work environment:Supporting a workplace that values and promotes the well-being of every employeeDevelop a rewarding work environment for all employeesComply with laws and regulations, apply the collective agreementEmployee Development:Collaborate to develop a work environment focused on employee knowledge, skills, and abilitySponsor and lead the orientation, familiarization and training of new employeesSupport orientation and training programs.Communication & Teamwork:Communicate frequently with other members of the supervisory teamFoster positive working relationships between departmentsCreate an environment where information and ideas flow freely between all hierarchical levels.Required Skills and QualificationsKnowledge of industrial equipment and processesRecognized leadership and autonomyStrong communication and coaching skillsDemonstrate a high capacity to withstand the stress of the manufacturing environmentDynamism, flexibility and organizational skillsGood knowledge of the Office suite including Word, Excel and OutlookMust have a history of demonstrating safe workplace behaviour and a sincere desire to follow and improve health and safety policies and procedures (any health and safety leadership experience will be considered an asset).Education or Work ExperienceExperience in managing people in a unionized environment (asset)Experience in food manufacturing/processingHigh school diploma.Additional InformationWork in accordance with local/provincial legislationUnderstands and is accountable for full compliance with safety and other EHS requirementsAll candidates must have authorization and the ability to maintain authorization to legally work in Canada.Relocation support is not available for this position.If you love the challenge of this dynamic career, then ADM will support and encourage your professional development and success.
