in our Calgary facility working 40 hours/week (Monday - Friday).


THE ROLE





The

Production Supervisor

is responsible for overseeing and coordinating all day-to-day manufacturing activities to ensure production schedules, quality standards, and safety requirements are consistently met. This position leads production teams, enforces compliance with cGMP, SOPs, and EHS standards, and ensures accurate documentation and efficient workflow. The Production Supervisor collaborates cross-functionally to optimize processes, support new product introductions, and drive continuous improvement initiatives that enhance efficiency, quality, and team performance.



DAY-TO-DAY




Supervise and coordinate daily manufacturing operations to meet production schedules, quality standards, and safety requirements. Ensure compliance with GMP, SOPs, WIs, MBRs, and all safety and quality standards. Lead, engage, and develop production teams, leveraging experience to make sound decisions on critical production issues. Maintain and enforce cGMP standards, work instructions, and company procedures. Ensure production timelines are met and safety protocols are consistently followed. Oversee accurate and timely completion of all production documentation, electronic records, and label requests. Audit and verify production records for accuracy, completeness, and compliance. Collaborate with the Operations Manager and Production Planner to identify and implement efficiency improvements. Report, investigate, and support resolution of deviations, non-conformances, and CAPAs. Serve as a liaison between management and production teams to promote safety and communication. Drive continuous improvement initiatives and performance optimization within production teams. Maintain and update training matrices; coordinate cross-training and skills development for Production Assistants. Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency, throughput, and product quality. Ensure real-time documentation and ERP processing of production batches. Participate in internal and external audits; implement corrective and preventive actions as required. Oversee hiring, onboarding, and ongoing training of production staff. Conduct performance reviews for Production Leads and Assistants; ensure team leaders complete evaluations effectively. Approve time sheets and review attendance, sick leave, and vacation requests. Request emergency repairs and coordinate preventive maintenance of production equipment. Monitor compliance with safety and environmental regulations; enforce EHS policies and conduct regular inspections. Assist in ordering materials and maintaining inventory of spare parts and production supplies. Ensure proper sanitation of manufacturing equipment and train staff on sanitation procedures. Support Production Leads in product manufacturing and train new staff on production processes. Participate in cross-functional teams for new product introductions and process validations. Utilize KPIs and data analysis to drive performance improvements and meet departmental goals. Perform other duties as assigned.

IDEAL FIT





Education & Experience


Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Life Sciences, or a related technical field preferred; equivalent experience considered. Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or regulated manufacturing operations. Prior supervisory or team leadership experience in a GMP-regulated environment required. Strong understanding of cGMP, GDP, and FDA, Health Canada, or EMA regulatory requirements. Experience with electronic batch records (EBR), ERP systems, and production scheduling tools.

Skills and Attributes


Proven leadership and team management skills with the ability to motivate, coach, and develop staff. Strong problem-solving, decision-making, and organizational abilities. Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality and complianc Ability to interpret and enforce SOPs, batch records, and regulatory documentation. Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with manufacturing data systems or MES software. Demonstrated ability to identify and implement process improvements and efficiency initiatives. Knowledge of EHS principles and experience promoting a safe work environment.



REQUIREMENTS




Physical ability to work in a manufacturing environment, including standing for extended periods and wearing appropriate PPE. Successful Criminal Record Check completion Medical Clearance required Safety Certifications including but not limited to: WHMIS, TDG, First Aid.



WORKING CONDITIONS




On-site

in SE Calgary GMP compliant pharmaceutical facility 40 hours/week (Monday - Friday) Daily interaction with chemicals and hazardous materials, PPE Provided.
