Job Description

Summary



Oversees the safe, efficient operation of the Converting and Printing departments--Printing, Mounting, Ink, Slitting, and Lamination--during the assigned shift. Ensures all products meet quality and compliance standards while leading team members and driving productivity, consistency, and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities



Collaborates with the Planning department to develop achievable production schedules that meet customer service requirements and delivery deadlines. Supports the Operations Manager in setting production targets, monitoring progress, and reporting any deviations in a timely manner. Conducts regular quality checks on produced materials to ensure compliance with AlphaPoly standards; promptly addresses issues within scope and escalates when necessary. Leads and manages team members by setting clear objectives, providing regular feedback, coaching, conducting performance reviews, and ensuring adherence to company policies and procedures. Communicates regularly with senior leadership, including Owners, Operations Manager, and other departments to align on customer expectations and operational goals. Participates in the recruitment, onboarding, and, when necessary, termination processes of team members in accordance with company policy and legislative requirements. Prepares and maintains accurate, timely reports and records relevant to the department's operations. Upholds and enforces all Health & Safety and Quality policies and procedures. Maintains organized and confidential records, ensuring information is readily accessible to authorized personnel. Provides coverage for team members during absences and performs additional duties as required.

Qualifications & Skills



Minimum of a high school diploma; post-secondary education and supervisory certifications are strong assets. Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience, including at least 3 years in a supervisory role within a manufacturing or production environment. Strong understanding of how production processes impact product quality. Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively. Adaptable to a dynamic work environment with frequent product and shift changes. Demonstrates professionalism, patience, and strong interpersonal skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
