We are seeking a full-time Production Supervisor to join the Leaders on our Production team. Assisting our Production managers, you will communicate with Team Leads and employees to ensure the needs of production efficiencies remain top priority. Primarily, you will assist with recruiting, training and education, and ensuring that the daily needs of employees are consistently met and resolved.
Responsibilities and Duties
  • Meet with Team Leads regularly and facilitate their training on key aspects of their role, such as conducting safety talks, ensuring production efficiencies are continuously met, coordinate daily tasks, and other responsibilities to meet production objectives.
  • Collaborate with our Health & Safety Coordinator and Production managers to ensure that Health and Safety policies and updates are implemented for the production department.
  • Assist Production managers in the hiring process, including screening candidates, interviews, plant tours, and conducting reference checks as needed.
  • Participate in employee evaluations, coaching, conflict resolution, and disciplinary measures as needed by making evidence-based decisions and continuously communicating with all parties involved.
  • Assist with maintaining a positive culture and championing change initiatives within the Production department.
  • Assist Production managers with their people management responsibilities by ensuring employees are trained in the role in which they are tasked.
  • Ensure that scheduling needs are completed in our HRM software, including authorizing hours worked, approving time-off requests, coding absenteeism and additional payroll authorizations before the payroll processing deadline.
  • Participate in lean manufacturing initiatives lead by the Continuous Improvement Coordinator
  • Using our inventory software, monitor material waste, order reversals and creations, as well as checking work centers for all Production areas.
  • Enter any accident, near miss, and incident reports for your department using our OHS software.
  • Act as liaison between shift rotations and other departments by communicating effectively both verbally and written in a timely manner.
  • Act as Production management when needed.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma required
  • Previous knowledge and experience in a people-oriented supervisor role required; Manufacturing fields preferred
  • Superior time management and organizational skills required
  • Professional level of written and oral communication required; both official languages an asset
  • Previous knowledge and/or experience in the HVAC or Manufacturing industry an asset
  • Previous experience with Health and Safety measures an asset
  • Previous experience with Lean manufacturing an asset
  • Thorough knowledge and experience in Microsoft Office required
  • Moderate physical effort \xe2\x80\x93 able to lift between 10 and 50lbs at times
  • Light physical exertion \xe2\x80\x93 this role often requires walking back and forth throughout the plant several times a day
  • Ability to sit or stand for 1-4 hours at a time
  • Ability to remain calm and make decisions while under pressure
  • Thorough experience in meeting deadlines required
