Job Description

Our client, a food manufacturing leader in Cambridge is looking for a talented Production Supervisor to join their team.

The Production Supervisor position have been created, due to the addition of a second shift.

This is a salary position, reporting directly to the Plant Lead. This role is an afternoon's position but the candidate needs to be flexible. Here are the key responsibilities:

Key Responsibilities

Provide leadership, coaching and technical support to a group of 10 - 15 Technical Operators, Maintenance Personnel and Sanitation Crew Members

Lead daily Production Meetings and coordinate shift to shift communication sessions

Drive Continuous Improvement in Cost, Quality and Health & Safety

Develop and engage team members, through training and growth opportunities

Report daily activities through clear, concise production reports to both Plant Lead and Maintenance Lead

Responsible for the control of inventory of materials, allocating material and meeting production deadlines

Essential Skills and Qualifications

College or Bachelor degree in Food Science Technology/Engineering or related field

Broad range of experience with Operational Systems

Strong technical writing skills, with experience developing Quality and Health & Safety Systems/Programs

A history of meeting and exceeding challenging performance goals; a desire to "win"

Ability to perform tasks effectively both individually and as a member of a team

3 - 5 years relevant working experience in a manufacturing environment

Knowledge of the principles of Continuous Improvement and Lean Manufacturing would be considered an asset

Strong communication skills
