Description



York Metal is looking for a Production Quality Inspector to join our team and strive to ensure that all products meet our high-quality standards and specifications. Working under the direction of the Plant Supervisor and Director of Operations, the PQC Inspector checks in process and finished good products against customer specifications, incoming materials, flags non-conforming product and maintains inspection logs. The ideal candidate must have a strong attention to detail, the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prior experience in Metal Manufacturing. The PQC Inspector is responsible for supporting the Production Team through the completion of regular quality assessments and ensuring Operators are complaint with established quality standards and procedures, including the proper completion of Quality and Production documentation (ie ICS Sheet, Lot Tracking Sheet, Traveler). Effective communication is vital for this role, as the PQC Inspector works as an interdepartmental liaison to communicate quality standards and execute control plans.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:



Perform regular quality assessments throughout the manufacturing process, from inspection of incoming materials and components to outgoing finished good products. Read blueprints, drawings, and specifications to understand the requirements of products. Compare finished product against specifications and blueprints. Measure product dimensions, examine functionality, and conduct non-destructive testing. Document inspection outcomes by completing reports and performance records (ie Inspection Control Sheet) Resolve quality-related issues in a timely manner and work with the team on NCR investigations. Provide support and communicate with the Production Team on inspection criteria, non-conformances, rework disposition and control plans. Maintain quality inspection logs and daily inspection sheets. Review Production Traveler for accuracy and completeness, verifying applicable revisions. Understand priority sequencing for testing, and work under the guidance of the Plant Supervisor. Use measurements tools such as verniers, calipers, height gauges and micrometers. Conduct various quality tests such as non-destructive dye penetrant testing and SPC. Complete other duties as assigned by the Plant Supervisor.

Experience, Qualifications, and Skill Set Requirements:



Prior work experience as a Quality Inspector or Technician in an Advanced Manufacturing environment. Great Mechanical amplitude and able to use inspection and measurement tools such as micrometers, vernier calipers and height gauges. Basic computer skills and proficiency in excel. Able to work in a fast paced and time-sensitive environment. Must be able to read and communicate in English, through both verbal and written means. Working understanding of GD&T Drawings / Blueprints. Knowledge of fasteners and hardware is a plus. Quality oriented, with a strong attention to detail required. Team oriented, with the ability to work autonomously. Ability to work in a fast-paced and time sensitive production environment. Knowledge and experience using Microsoft Office Suite. Must be able to read and communicate in English, through both verbal and written means.

Physical Requirements and Work Environment:



Fast Paced manufacturing shop floor environment involves frequent standing, walking, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and balancing. Process is repetitive in nature and involves close attention to detail. Frequent use of eye, hand, and finger coordination. Employees are to comply with health and safety policies, safe work practices and legislation (OHSA).
Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $21.00-$23.00 per hour
