Summary
We are seeking a skilled Planner/Scheduler to join our team in Oro-Medonte, Ontario. In this pivotal role, you will contribute to our mission of delivering high-quality plastic components by planning and prioritizing production schedules and maintaining the inventory of Work in Progress (WIP) and Finished Goods (FG) at MPC, in coordination with the Material Handler and Shipper, to maximize efficiency and minimize delays to operations.
Responsibilities
Develop, maintain, and adjust production schedules based on customer orders, material availability, customer requirements, production capacity, minimum inventory levels and Tool Prentivice Maintenance (PM) shot count.
Monitor and analyze workflow, identifying potential bottlenecks or delays, and proactively addressing issues.
Efficiently identify and communicate priorities and changes to production requirements to relevant departments, including but not limited to Production, Quality Control, and Shipping, in a timely manner.
Optimize scheduling to reduce downtime, improve efficiency, and meet on-time delivery goals.
Track production progress and update schedules accordingly, making real-time adjustments as needed.
Collaborate with Customer Service teams to prioritize urgent orders and manage lead times effectively.
Utilize scheduling software and ERP systems to maintain accurate records and generate reports.
Support all customer and supplier RDRs.
Communicate and manage production escalations.
Support and drive Continuous Improvement (CI) initiatives.
Support 5S initiatives.
Ensure team members have the information they need, when they need it.
Support year-end inventory.
Perform and/or assist with cycle counts.
Communicate mould changes to the Tool Room and Production, and provide updates regarding any changes and provide PM due dates to match schaduling needs in a timely manner.
Promote MPC's core values and actively contribute to a positive and rewarding team environment.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Post-secondary education in a related technical field or a minimum of 3 years of related work experience.
Experience in shop floor production.
Familiarity with supply chain and inventory management systems.
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook).
Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
Experience with ERP software.
