Production Planner

Job Description

The Production Planner is responsible for establishing the production schedule, taking into account customer needs, production capacities, delivery times and available labor.

As part of the production launch of the new plant, you will also be called upon to participate in the implementation of the new Manufacturing Execution System (MES) in the company. You will also have a role to play in the implementation and production of the various surface treatment processes through the new plant.

Key Responsibilities and Expected Results



Plan and coordinate production activities based on forecasts, customer needs and operational constraints;

Create daily and long-term work orders and ensure data accuracy in MRP and MES systems;

Support program implementation from planning to execution, while tracking timelines, costs, and deliverables;

Lead cross-functional meetings to align priorities across departments and ensure timely delivery of solutions to customers;

Act as a key liaison between customers, suppliers and internal teams to manage expectations and maintain strong communication;

Prepare and maintain bills of materials (BOMs) and coordinate the integration of engineering changes into production;

Monitor and analyze production KPIs, generate reports, and suggest improvements to optimize efficiency and reduce costs;

Serve as a point of contact for project management tools such as the Infor system and the customer portal, ensuring accurate tracking and traceability;

Provide training and support to project or production teams as required;

Contribute to risk analysis, problem solving and continuous improvement initiatives across operations;

Support other planning and project management activities as required, acting as a key backup.

Qualifications



Academic

Bachelor's degree or DEC in operations management or industrial engineering or supply management

Experience

3 to 5 years of relevant planning experience in a manufacturing environment

(Experience in the field of special processes and/or aeronautics a major asset)

Skills in demand



Fluency in French and English (oral and written) is essential to read customer documentation, understand special process requirements, and coordinate with international suppliers and partners.

Experience with ERP/MRP systems;

Experience with MES systems will be considered an asset;

Organizational, communications, priority management and leadership skills;

Analytical mind, sense of initiative and problem-solving skills;

Structured and motivating in addition to being endowed with adaptable skills.

Ability to function independently in a hectic environment;

Proficiency in Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and MS Project);

Knowledge of surface treatment processes in aeronautics will be considered an asset;

Knowledge of NADCAP accreditations will be considered an asset;

Reading and interpreting 2D drawings, 3D models and aerospace manufacturing specifications will be considered an asset;

Experience with aerospace quality standards and systems will be considered an asset;
