The Production Planner is responsible for developing, coordinating, and executing the short- and long-term production schedules across all organizational growing environments (Tissue Culture, Indoor and Greenhouse). This role serves as a key operational bridge between cultivation, post-harvest, planning, packaging, and quality teams to ensure plant flow, labour, and resources are aligned with business objectives and market demand.
This role plays a pivotal part in driving efficiency, minimizing loss, and enabling strategic decision-making by leveraging data, forecasting tools, and collaborative planning processes. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, analytical, and thrives in a fast-paced, dynamic production environment.
Responsibilities, including but not limited to:
Develop and manage daily, weekly, and long-range crop production schedules from propagation through harvest and drying.
Align crop plans with facility capacity, labour availability, genetic strategy, and product demand.
Forecast and coordinate plant movement, space usage, and harvest cycles across all cultivation stages.
Plan and manage labour requirements for cultivation tasks in collaboration with department leads.
Identify and resolve scheduling bottlenecks (e.g., drying room capacity, staffing coverage).
Act as a liaison between cultivation, drying, packaging, and sales teams to ensure continuity and product readiness.
Maintain accurate data in cultivation planning tools and generate KPI reports on yield, costs, schedule adherence, and productivity.
Use scenario modeling to optimize production plans and assess risk/impact of changes.
Drive continuous improvement by refining planning processes, tools, and SOPs.
Support inter-site coordination, seasonal adjustments, and production trials.
Lead cross-functional planning meetings, provide clear schedules, and train team members on planning tools.
Provide insights and recommendations to leadership to guide production capabilities and business alignment.
Assist the Director of Cultivation with special requests and projects that may be outside of day-to-day responsibilities.

Ability to wear assigned Personal Protective Equipment including, but not limited to medical gloves, safety eyewear, face masks, etc.
Environmental Demands:Fast-paced office environment with quickly changing priorities
Must be willing and able to work in/ move through environments with variable temperature, humidity, and lighting.
This position will involve exposure to cannabis/plant materials and is therefore not likely suitable for anyone that may suffer from allergies to cannabis or plant pollen, or for anyone that experiences medical issues as a result of exposure to cannabis/plant materials.
The ideal candidate has:
Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations, Business, or a related field is an asset
Leadership experience within a regulated manufacturing industry considered an asset
+ (i.e. Pharma/Food/Beverage/Cannabis) Production Planning and Manufacturing experience is preferred
Experience with ERP systems (i.e. Sage) would be considered a strong asset
Advanced level experience in Microsoft Excel
Experience with reporting, analytics, and forecasting
Solution-oriented and proactively drives process improvement
Builds strong relationships within the team and cross-functional partners
Self-starter who works independently, takes responsibility, and demonstrates integrity
Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and tight deadlines.
Experience with demand forecasting and production capacity modeling is an asset.
