(Sliding Scale) o Approval must be obtained Before classes begin o Approved degree programs such as: Chemistry, Engineering, Supply Chain Management, and Finance o You must complete the program within 6 years Production Operator Job, Cobourg, ON Arclin, who is a leading manufacturer of decorative and industrial surfaces overlays, as well as resin and chemical manufacturing, is currently looking for Production Operators for our Cobourg, ON location. Reporting into the Production Lead, this position is a full-time role that will start in an entry position in our packaging department, but has multiple opportunities to cross-train in other production roles and advance in pay. Operators are responsible for performing tasks and duties pertaining to the manufacturing and processing of impregnated surfaces at the site. This role is required to know and perform all assigned production department functions in compliance with Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) regulations and Arclin\xe2\x80\x99s policies and procedures to contribute positively to an efficient and safely run operation. Production Operator Job Responsibilities: Entry Level (packaging department) - \xc2\xb7 Inspects and packages final product, according to established procedures, standards and HSE regulations \xc2\xb7 Verifies basic product label information, such as dimensions, sheet counts, etc. \xc2\xb7 Assists production line operators with pallet changes, clean ups and start ups \xc2\xb7 Maintains general housekeeping of production areas \xc2\xb7 Assists with larger production area cleaning tasks \xc2\xb7 Follows all site rules and procedures as they apply to quality, health, safety, and the environment \xc2\xb7 Reports all safety concerns immediately to Production Lead, HSE Lead or site Leadership team Other Skill Development Opportunities (production line/floor operators) - \xc2\xb7 Operate a forklift safely to move large pallets (empty & with product) throughout facility \xc2\xb7 Operate a clamp truck safely to move large paper rolls from warehouse to production area \xc2\xb7 Operate the production lines, using centerline process information to maintain each product specification \xc2\xb7 Complete and report quality testing accurately \xc2\xb7 Visually monitors processes within their area of accountability and immediately informs the Production Lead of any deviations or abnormalities \xc2\xb7 Works in close coordination with the Production Lead to accomplish the tasks needed to safely and efficiently meet production schedules across all processes \xc2\xb7 Communicates and confers with the Production Lead, as well as with Technical, Supervisory, and Support Personnel to resolve process conditions affecting safety, efficiency, and product quality \xc2\xb7 Responds to process alarms and interlocks promptly and coordinates timely confirmation and corrective actions to resolve conditions generating the alarms and interlocks \xc2\xb7 Performs troubleshooting in the event of process deviations \xc2\xb7 Follows all site rules and procedures as they apply to quality, health, safety, and the environment \xc2\xb7 Reports all safety concerns immediately to Production Lead, HSE Lead or site Leadership team
  • Participation in the Joint Health and Safety Committee to facilitate safety improvements is a plus
Production Operator Job Requirements: \xc2\xb7 High School Diploma or GED required \xc2\xb7 Good attention to detail required \xc2\xb7 Be able to accurately read and use a tape measure \xc2\xb7 Must be ok with rotating 12 hour shifts (Days/Nights continental rotation) \xc2\xb7 Must be ok with following strict Health and Safety Guidelines and wear required PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) \xc2\xb7 Ability to stand, walk, and bend throughout a 12 hour shift \xc2\xb7 Able to lift a maximum of 50 lbs \xc2\xb7 Basic computer skills required \xc2\xb7 Basic math skills required, including the basic use of a calculator \xc2\xb7 Forklift experience a plus; would need to become recertified on site \xc2\xb7 Analytical and mechanical mindset an asset \xc2\xb7 Previous manufacturing experience a plus **Please note: The above statements are designed to outline the functions and position requirements of this job.
