Job Overview


We are seeking a skilled and reliable Mechanic to join our maintenance team. The Production Mechanic is responsible for ensuring the reliable and safe operation of production equipment across assigned manufacturing lines. This role combines mechanical maintenance expertise with electrical knowledge to troubleshoot, maintain, and repair complex machinery used in high-speed cosmetic and personal care product manufacturing. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with production and maintenance teams to distribute workload effectively, minimize downtime, and meet daily line production targets.

Key Responsibilities:

Perform troubleshooting, maintenance, and repairs on mechanical and electrical systems on production lines.

Diagnose and correct equipment faults, including wiring, motors, actuators, sensors, PLC interactions, conveyors, and other automated components.

Conduct preventative maintenance to reduce breakdowns and unplanned downtime.

Manage and prioritize maintenance tasks across 4-5 production lines to ensure balance of workload and production continuity.

Coordinate with production leadership to plan maintenance windows that minimize impact on output.

Follow and promote compliance with all health and safety policies and procedures.

Identify safety risks during maintenance work and implement corrective actions to improve safety and efficiency.

Collaborate with supervisors and operators to anticipate maintenance needs that align with daily targets.

Maintain comprehensive records of maintenance actions, parts used, and time spent per line.

Communicate effectively with team members, production, and management regarding machine status and repair timelines.

Qualifications:

Diploma or certificate in mechanical or electrical trades, or equivalent technical training.

Previous experience in an industrial manufacturing environment with both mechanical and electrical troubleshooting.

Experience with PLCs, conveyor systems, motors, sensors, and automation control is an asset.

Skilled in preventative maintenance, root cause analysis, and basic fabrication or component replacement.

Ability to work independently and prioritize multiple tasks across several production lines.

Strong problem-solving, teamwork, and communication skills.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $23.00-$29.00 per hour

Expected hours: 8 per week
