Kamloops Truss is growing, and we're looking for a hands-on, people-focused Production Manager to oversee our Truss and Wall Panel operations in Kamloops, British Columbia. This leadership role is responsible for managing production teams, ensuring operational excellence, and, most importantly, supporting and developing people. The Role:
The Production Manager is responsible for overseeing daily plant operations and production flow across the Truss and Wall Panel divisions. This role leads a team of supervisors, leads, and production staff, ensuring that people, processes, and performance align with Kamloops Truss's standards of safety, quality, and teamwork. The right candidate will bring a balance of operational know-how and leadership strength, someone who can motivate, coach, and hold others accountable while creating an environment of respect, growth, and success.
Key Responsibilities Include:
Lead, mentor, and coach production and yard teams, fostering accountability and high performance.
Set clear expectations and ensure all employees understand what to do, how to do it, and why it matters.* Oversee daily production operations, ensuring schedules, safety, and quality standards are consistently met.
Monitor progress, address bottlenecks, and collaborate cross-departmentally to maintain efficient workflow.
Ensure compliance with WorkSafeBC, Labour Standards, and company policies.
Identify and address training needs; ensure employees are properly onboarded and equipped for success.
Conduct regular performance check-ins, provide feedback, and guide professional growth.
Participate in Joint Occupational Health and Safety (JOHS) initiatives and champion safe work practices.
Support continuous improvement through lean manufacturing principles and proactive communication with leadership.
Oversee the operation and optimization of automated shop equipment, ensuring proper setup, maintenance, and integration into production processes. Provide guidance and training to staff on safe and efficient equipment use, troubleshooting, and technology adoption.
What You Bring:
3-5 years of leadership or supervisory experience in
manufacturing, construction, or truss/wall panel production.
Proven ability to lead teams, set expectations, and hold people accountable with fairness and consistency.
Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Solid understanding of production planning, quality control, and safe work procedures.
Valid driver's license (required).
A passion for lean manufacturing principles or continuous improvement processes are essential.
Experience with automated production equipment, troubleshooting and software operations for truss/wall panel manufacturing considered an asset.
