Weins Auto Group is seeking a dynamic and experienced Production Manager to assist in leading and managing our service department's day-to-day operations at Thornhill Toyota. The ideal candidate will supervise personnel and ensure efficient workflow. They will also uphold our high standards for health, safety, and security while ensuring exceptional performance in a fast-paced automotive environment. Primary Responsibilities
Personnel Management
• Provide on-the-job technical and administrative training to technicians, fostering continuous development.
• Lead daily technician circles to boost team motivation and address concerns.
• Conduct weekly meetings with the Shop Foreman to discuss team performance and workflow.
• Oversee apprentices' development and ensure structured mentorship from senior technicians.
• Conduct annual performance evaluations for all technicians.
Service Department Supervision
• Ensure shop proficiency levels exceed 110% through efficient scheduling and workflow management.
• Maintain strong relationships with manufacturers and ensure technician certification compliance.
• Monitor service bulletins and warranty claims, ensuring technicians are up to date on repairs and training.
• Supervise tool and equipment maintenance, ensuring safety and functionality.
Reporting Analytics
• Oversee proper documentation of repair orders and thorough completion of maintenance inspections (MPI).
• Develop action plans for process improvements using service performance data.
• Monitor warranty claims for accuracy and compliance.
Building Maintenance
• Assist with building maintenance and ensure repairs are handled promptly, maintaining a safe and presentable facility
Other
• Assist with other projects or duties as requested by management.
Qualifications
• Valid Driver's License
• Ontario Automotive Technician License
• Ozone Depletion Prevension Card
• Proven experience in supervising in an automotive environment
