Magest Building Systems is hiring! We are currently seeking a day shift Production Manager. Magest is locally owned and operated with strong ties to Stratford and surrounding communities. We are gearing up to grow the business and we want you to be part of that growth and success.

Job Responsibilities:

Accomplishes Company objectives through planning and directing the work of a group of individuals. Providing guidance to direct reports, typically comprising first-line supervisors

Job Duties:

Strategic Operations

Stay up-to-date with the management techniques and programs: ISO 9000, Total Quality Management (TQM), Six Sigma, 5S

Implement efficiency and productivity improvements

Determine the material and human resources required to execute production

Ensure that production is cost effective by understanding and reacting to the wider needs of the business

Manage risk to mitigate potential Health & Safety, financial and legal liabilities

Employee Development

Supervise and motivate employees

Ensure employees adhere to production standards and Health & Safety legislation

Develop and lead the continuous improvement activities

Ensure that respect, safety and quality are key elements of the production culture

Build and develop relationships at all levels across production to spark ideas for continuous improvement

Review employee performance, provide empathic coaching and feedback, and institute development opportunities

Identify training needs and interview, hire and train employees

Coach and motivate employees

System Implementation and Process Adherence

Develop and publish production processes and procedures - production manual

Provide input into current and future systems

Monitor and measure production key performance indicators in current systems

Production Planning and Optimization

Analyze production processes

Optimize production tasks and improve employee adoption

Oversee the production schedule, developing rough cut capacity and near-term production sequencing

Manage production schedule freeze and ad hoc changes

Allocate personnel and resources

Coordinate the production schedule with logistics to ensure efficient delivery of goods

Other Skills and Experience:

5 + years of Production Management experience in a make-to-order production facility

Experience in framing buildings, reading blueprints, and cold-form steel structures

Experience managing competing production requirements and timelines

Demonstrated ability to establish strong and supportive relationships with employees, peers, and management

Proven ability to recognize and mitigate operational risks

Understanding of applicable health and safety, environmental, and legislative requirements for a production facility

Ability to communicate with tact and diplomacy, with strong negotiation and dispute resolution skills

Demonstrated software skills including Microsoft Office suite, project management software

Pay: $70,000.00-$80,000.00 per year
