THE ROLE - PRODUCTION MANAGER

The Production Manager is an essential role within our electronic manufacturing facility. Reporting to the General Manager, the Production Manager would focus on achieving results and motivating team members to meet production goals. This role would contribute to continuous improvement, while providing leadership in a fast-paced environment. Specific duties would entail:

Actively managing all aspects of production and assembly, by assigning and organizing workloads from orders placed by clients. Consistently leading and coaching team members to establish a skilled and engaged team capable of supporting company growth. Communicating with Management to achieve and maintain workflow productivity. Planning operations, focusing on optimizing manufacturing and continuously improving processes. Ensuring critical issues are promptly and professionally addressed and documented. Investigating quality issues in conjunction with Quality Assurance and other applicable staff members. Ensuring production schedules are met on time while effectively dealing with issues that may arise. Co-ordinating manpower to ensure that the production team in the plant is optimally staffed. Ensuring that a safe working environment is maintained by enforcing Company standards.

THE CANDIDATE

The ideal candidate would posses the following:

A post-secondary degree or diploma in electronics or engineering technician, or equivalent experience. Five (5) years supervisory experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment. Demonstrated ability to coach, mentor and perform effective labour management for 50-100 direct reports. Demonstrated experience in Lean implementation programs and production optimization. Excellent leadership abilities. Proven problem solving skills in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Strong written and verbal communication skills. The ability to work effectively at all levels in an organization Strong business acumen and understanding of organizational issues and challenges Experience with IQMS/MRP would be considered an asset.
