We excel because of our innovation, responsiveness, and strong corporate culture to deliver the most effective solutions.Here\xe2\x80\x99s what you will do as our Production Manager:Reporting to the Plant Manager, the Production Manager is responsible for optimizing plant operations and ensuring adherence to quality standards. This involves maximizing resource utilization, identifying and implementing solutions for production bottlenecks, and overseeing all aspects to achieve or surpass efficiency and quality targets. They also play a crucial role in maintaining food safety and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) by ensuring facilities and processes comply with regulations. Additionally, the Production Manager gathers and reports data on raw materials, finished goods, and production issues to support continuous improvement.Key responsibilities as a Production Manager:
  • The Production Manager is responsible for overseeing daily production activities, ensuring on-time and on-budget completion of production schedules. This role encompasses managing and directing the production team, ensuring operational efficiency, and maintaining the highest quality standards.
  • Provide leadership and support to line supervisor, and address line staff concerns promptly.
  • Identify and implement process enhancements to optimize productivity and identify areas for staff development.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement changes to enhance productivity and efficiency.
  • Hire production employees based on production needs. Lead and coach supervisors while promoting internal development and growth across all roles
  • Allocate resources effectively, including workforce, equipment, and materials, to optimize production output.
  • Track and analyze production KPIs (yield, waste, etc.) to identify and implement corrective actions for quality, efficiency, and continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with production planning for material and labor needs. Monitor and adjust production schedules as needed. Ensure team alignment by communicating company policies, mission, and goals to staff.
  • Identify training needs. Select and train plant staff for job specific duties.
  • Support the development, implementation, and maintenance of food safety and quality control programs. Develop and enforce work-safe procedures to meet OHS requirements, fostering a safety culture.
  • Liaise with maintenance to resolve equipment issues promptly. Attend/hold meetings across departments to address production, equipment, safety, and quality concerns.
  • Ensure all plant sanitation processes meet company and regulatory standards.
  • Play a pivotal role in upholding the company\'s commitment to food safety and premium quality products, ensuring customer satisfaction.
  • Ensure production scheduling adheres to stringent allergen handling procedures, minimizing contamination risks.
  • Collaborate with Quality Assurance, Production, and Maintenance to troubleshoot production issues and cultivate a culture of continuous quality improvement. This collaborative approach resolves long-term quality problems and ensures safe food production meeting SQF, Gluten-free, Organic, GMP, and Kosher standards.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Here\xe2\x80\x99s what you\xe2\x80\x99ll need to be a successful Production Manager:
  • University Degree or a College Diploma in Applied Science, Food Science or Manufacturing;
  • Minimum 5 years production supervisory experience, preferably in Food or Beverage manufacturing environment;
  • Proven ability to manage, direct, and motivate a diverse workforce to achieve common goals;
  • Previous experience in Production & Labor scheduling an asset;
  • Proficient in Business systems, ability to extract data from the system to create management reports;
  • Proficient in MS Office suite;
  • Inventory management experience / knowledge;
  • Ability to lift and move products & materials as required for the role;
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to foster collaboration and build strong relationships across all levels.
