Foster and promote the company's culture while ensuring adherence to company policies, procedures, and standards to maintain consistency and compliance with both company goals and regulatory requirements.
Lead, manage, and support the operations team, guiding staff through clear goal setting, performance assessments, effective communication, and on-the-job training and development initiatives.
Maintain a well-structured operational department by ensuring optimal staffing levels, creating succession plans, and developing employee growth strategies to meet current and future needs.
Responsible for the implementation and management of lean manufacturing processes to enhance efficiency and reduce waste including reporting on the progress of lean initiatives and ensuring compliance with legal standards.
Focus on continuous improvement, leading teams to identify and address areas of waste or inefficiency in the manufacturing process.
Design and implement an annual strategic plan for the department, aligning it with the company's performance targets and industry trends and benchmarks.
Track and evaluate key operational performance indicators (KPIs), including overall equipment effectiveness (OEE), measure and improve departmental performance; analyze data trends to develop actionable improvement plans.
Develop and introduce new processes and procedures to adapt to evolving business demands
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, to ensure alignment with broader business objectives.
Training and coaching employees on lean tools and methodologies, ensuring everyone is aligned towards the same efficiency goals.
Maintain visibility and engagement with staff through management by walking around.
Oversee the preparation, approval, and management of the department's operational budget, ensuring financial targets are met.
Lead key employee committee meetings, driving continuous improvement initiatives in the relevant areas.
Take charge of ensuring the smooth launch of new products into operations, ensuring flawless execution.
Participate in the Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) program, conducting accident/incident investigations, identifying root causes, implementing corrective actions, and following up to ensure completion.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Job Qualifications:
Post-secondary education in Manufacturing Engineering, Operations/Industrial Management, or a related field is preferred; a master's degree is an asset.
At least seven (7) years of experience in automotive manufacturing, with a proven history of leadership and delivering results in fast-paced environments.
Strong business acumen with a deep understanding of automotive industry practices.
Excellent leadership abilities, with a knack for team building, effective listening, and fostering strong relationships.
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
Knowledge and comprehensive understanding of Lean Management and Value Stream Mapping (VSM).
Proficient in Microsoft Office, ERP systems, and other relevant software preferable SAP knowledge.
A background in Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, or Operations is preferred.
