Main Functions:
The Production Manager will be responsible for overseeing all manufacturing at our manufacturing plant and for planning, coordinating, and controlling manufacturing processes to ensure products are delivered on time, within budget, and meet quality standards. This role has a wide range of responsibilities that include a plant expansion to accommodate growth of our products.
The Production Manager will collaborate closely with Engineering, Sales, Suppliers and other departments to meet the Company's operational needs. This role will involve managing a team, maintaining safety and compliance standards, and defining, implementing, and monitoring continuous improvement initiatives and technologies.
The ideal candidate will possess a combination of strong leadership, organizational and technical skills. This role requires strong communication skills, interpersonal skills, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced setting.
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
Oversee manufacturing operations including management of production personnel across two shifts.
Work with internal engineering in a hands-on approach to resolve technical challenges associated with manufacturing customized equipment.
Identify opportunities to optimize the production process and reduce cost.
Analyze data to monitor performance against KPIs (safety, cost/efficiency, downtime, output, quality) and identify actions to close the gap.
Ensure adherence to quality standards and work closely with the Quality department to resolve product issues.
Role model the right behaviors and promote a culture of safety and ensure adherence to all health, safety, and environment regulations, along with participating in safety audits and supporting incident investigations.
Ensure timely execution of work orders with optimal use of manpower, materials and equipment.
Develop strong working relationships with cross-functional teams including Manufacturing Engineering, Supply Chain, Sales, Customer Service and Engineering to understand and anticipate needs and to enhance business processes.
Provide recommendations to enhance the business to handle projected growth.
Manage, train, and coach manufacturing staff to achieve short and long-term performance goals.

Essential Qualifications, Knowledge and Skills:
Education: Bachelor's degree in Electrical engineering or a related discipline. Mechanical or Industrial Engineering may also be considered.
Experience: 5+ years of management/supervision in an industrial environment. Make to order/ Engineer to order manufacturing background preferred.
Understanding of transformer designs and manufacturing workflow, along with resolving production issues.
Previous experience of continuous improvement through design and/or manufacturing optimization.
Demonstrated knowledge of lean manufacturing methodologies.
Strong leadership and team management skills.
Effective communication skills, both intra- and interdepartmentally.
Familiarity with ISO9001 and ISO14001.
Electrical equipment manufacturing background is an asset.
P.Eng. status is an asset.
Fluent in English, both verbal and written.

This role is located in an office environment, with frequent visits to manufacturing floors.
Ability to travel to international destinations; must possess and maintain a valid passport for international travel.
