Production Labourer

Department:

Manufacturing, Leduc

Reports to:

Production Manager

Position Summary:

Labourers perform general duties at the Variperm facility, varying on the specific
department they are working in. Duties include operating basic hand tools, assisting machine operators and welders. Housekeeping and material handling are also components of this position.

Work Schedule: We are seeing candidates for both DAY and NIGHT shifts

This position may involve overtime hours depending on the scope of work.

Duties:
\xc2\xb7 Perform general tasks as assigned by Supervisor
\xc2\xb7 Handle materials \xe2\x80\x93 within the shop and outdoors as required
\xc2\xb7 Assisting various machine operators in setup; moving materials in and out of the shop using overhead hoist and forklift
\xc2\xb7 Operate basic hand tools and powered hand tools.
\xc2\xb7 Operate various equipment as described in company procedures
\xc2\xb7 Assist in loading/unloading of pipe deliveries/pick-ups
\xc2\xb7 Stacking/unstacking pipe adhering to strict procedures
\xc2\xb7 Perform work safely and follow established work procedures
\xc2\xb7 General shop cleaning
\xc2\xb7 Adhere to health, safety and quality policies, as well as all company policies and
procedures
\xc2\xb7 Ensure work areas and clean and organized
\xc2\xb7 Participate in training and safety meetings
\xc2\xb7 Other duties as required

\xc2\xb7 Able to meet deadlines and do so safely
\xc2\xb7 Mechanically inclined, ability to use small hand tools and/or power tools
\xc2\xb7 Attention to detail
\xc2\xb7 Team player
\xc2\xb7 Strong aptitude to understand drawings
\xc2\xb7 Good verbal and written communication skills
\xc2\xb7 Able to follow and understand both oral and written instructions in English
\xc2\xb7 Grade 12 basic math skills

Qualifications/Requirements
\xc2\xb7 Grade 12 or GED \xe2\x80\x93 additional education past high school would be an asset
\xc2\xb7 Manufacturing and forklift/overhead crane training or experience an asset
\xc2\xb7 Good physical fitness
\xc2\xb7 Stand or walk for long periods of time
\xc2\xb7 Use arms and hands to reach for, handle or manipulate materials
\xc2\xb7 Lift and carry materials weighing up to 50 lbs, lift items weighing more than 50 lbs with
assistance from other workers, forklift and/or overhead hoist
\xc2\xb7 Exposure to fine dust and airborne particles, high noise level

Pay:

Pay is dependent on experience. We offer employer paid benefits and an RRSP matching program to eligible employees. Overtime is paid over 40 hours of work per week.
