Job Summary


We are looking for a versatile and skilled

Production Floater

to join our team! As a Production Floater, you will be responsible for filling in across multiple roles, including feeding printing presses, die cutters, and aerators. Your primary objective is to ensure that all machines are running efficiently, minimizing downtime and maximizing productivity. This is a hands-on role that requires flexibility, high learning acumen, and the ability to troubleshoot and adapt to various production needs.

Key Responsibilities:



Machine Operation:

Train to operate various production machines, including printing presses, die cutters, and aerators, ensuring they are running smoothly and efficiently.

Machine Setup and Changeovers:

Assist with setting up machines for different production runs and perform changeovers between jobs to meet production requirements.

Monitor Production Process:

Continuously monitor the production process to ensure quality standards and deadlines are met. Address any issues or machine malfunctions promptly.

Troubleshooting and Maintenance:

Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve any operational issues with the printing presses, die cutters, or aerators to minimize production delays.

Machine Adjustments:

Adjust machine settings as needed during production to ensure optimal performance and consistent quality.

Support for Team Members:

Fill in and assist other team members as needed across different machine stations, ensuring smooth workflow across various parts of the production line.

Quality Control:

Conduct quality checks throughout the production process to ensure products meet client specifications and quality standards.

Maintain Cleanliness and Safety:

Keep work areas clean and organized and adhere to safety protocols, ensuring safe operation of all equipment.

Inventory and Supplies:

Ensure that necessary materials and supplies (e.g., ink, paper, cutting dies) are available for machine operation.

Record Keeping:

Keep accurate records of machine usage, production output, maintenance performed, and any issues that arise.

Collaboration:

Communicate effectively with supervisors, team members, and other departments to ensure efficient coordination and production flow.
All relevant training to be provided to the successful candidate that meets the qualifications of the role.

Qualifications:



High school diploma or equivalent; technical certifications or training in printing or manufacturing processes is a plus. Previous experience operating printing presses, die cutters, or similar machinery in a production environment is preferred. Knowledge of printing processes and machinery, including how to troubleshoot and make minor adjustments is a plus. Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume production environment while maintaining quality standards. Strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on troubleshooting skills. Ability to operate and fill in for different roles, including as a backup for multiple machine stations. Strong attention to detail and ability to follow precise instructions. Willingness to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends as needed.
