? Plant Engineer
Fiberglass Rebar Manufacture: operates an ISO 9001 certified facility and works closely with co-workers to maintain its high operating standards. Our team is growing, and we are looking for a Full-time, Permanent Plant Engineer for fiberglass rebar production in Edmonton, AB. Reporting to senior management, the Plant Engineer is responsible for the following:
Principle Roles and Responsibilities:
? Develop and implement strategic strategies for manufacturing, engineering, process improvement, and research.
? Direct operations throughout the shop including managing shop personnel and other direct reports.
? Manage and improve manufacturing processes and procedures, including the implementation of lean manufacturing methods to improve overall plant and production efficiencies while reducing downtime and waste.
? Maintain industry standards, committees, and audits. Including but not limited to acting as a company liaison for governing agencies.
? Plan and predict resource and capital requirements for the operation and expansion of the plant. Including but not limited to material purchasing, logistics, vender qualification, procurement, and fabrication.
? Custom engineering design and testing on automated machinery as required.
? Set policies and objectives related to the quality assurance and quality control systems.
? Assist the sales dept. with sales operations, and business development as required.
? Assist HR department with hiring and management of shop personnel.
? Organize and participate in safety program development and process safety engineering.
? Participate in company safety, environmental, and quality programs.
Qualifications:
? 2-10+ years experience in a manufacturing environment.
? experience managing, hiring, leading, and developing staff an asset.
? University degree in Engineering, mechanical or industrial preferred.
? Experience with maintaining and developing ISO and industry audits an asset.
? Chemical and/or fiberglass experience is considered an asset.
? Experience with mechanical tools.
? Experience with Solidworks and ERP/SAP systems is an asset.
? Knowledge of continuous improvement initiatives and tools.
? Must be able to handle loads of up to 50 lbs.
? Ability to work safely and productively in a high pace environment.
? Knowledge of manufacturing and quality inspection an asset.
Hours:
? Monday ? Friday: 8:00am to 5:00pm (42.5 hours per week)
