Modern Elevator
THE POSITION
MEII is seeking a qualified individual to join our team located at the Burlington production facility. This position will report directly to the VP of Engineering. The Production Engineers' primary responsibility will be to ensure that elevator components and systems are produced efficiently, safely, and to the highest quality standards. You'll collaborate with engineers, production staff, and project managers to optimize processes, troubleshoot technical issues, and support continuous improvement initiatives. Duties and responsibilities will include but are not limited to the following:
Develop a production/manufacturing package (drawings, lists, etc) for an approved elevator spec
Assist and complete technical purchasing as required
Oversee and optimize production processes for elevator components and systems.
Collaborate with design engineers to ensure manufacturability of new products.
Develop and implement process improvements to increase efficiency, reduce waste, and maintain quality standards.
Monitor production schedules, capacity, and workflow to meet delivery timelines.
Troubleshoot technical issues on the shop floor and provide engineering support to production staff.
Ensure compliance with safety regulations, quality standards, and industry codes.
Prepare technical documentation, reports, and production metrics for management review.
Support continuous improvement initiatives such as Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma.
Qualifications & Skill Requirements
Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field.
3+ years of experience in a manufacturing or production engineering role (preferably in heavy equipment or elevator industry).
Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, materials, and quality control systems.
Advanced Proficiency with AutoCAD and Inventor software.
Experience with using an MRP/ERP program
Programming/coding experience would be an asset
Prior experience with Elevating System design and knowledge of CSA B44 code standard would be an asset
Excellent problem?solving, analytical, and communication skills.
Experience with Lean, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies is an asset.
