Production Designer Print Focus

Calgary, AB, CA, Canada

Job Description

WCD helps organizations rethink their back-office operations. As a leader in back-office optimization, we turn the back office into a driver of data intelligence, business growth, and competitive advantage. Our approach connects people, process, data, and automation--eliminating low-value, repetitive tasks, accelerating workflows, improving accuracy, unlocking insights, and freeing your team to focus on what truly moves the business forward.

Our solutions include managed back-office services, automated digital document delivery platform, and AI-driven digital mailrooms--backed by a team with expertise in outsourced print management, document scanning & imaging, workflow automation, and enterprise content management. We support key functions across the mailroom, accounting, operations, records management, and reception.

Over seventy years strong--and still helping organizations work smarter and move faster.

WCD is currently seeking a Production Designer (PD) to join its creative services team, WCD Creative. The ideal candidate is a detail-driven designer with a strong sense of visual craft, excellent proofreading skills, and the ability to execute precise layout and production work across both print and digital platforms. This is a client-facing role that requires the confidence to work independently while building trusted relationships with top-tier customers.

The PD will be embedded onsite with key WCD enterprise clients, supporting their marketing and communications teams with high-quality, brand-aligned production design. While working in close connection with the broader WCD Creative team, the PD must be comfortable taking ownership of projects day-to-day, while maintaining strong communication with both the client and WCD leadership.

Core responsibilities include layout design, typesetting, file revisions, and preparing press- and digital-ready files with precision and accuracy. The role requires advanced proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud, experience designing for both small and large format print and digital platforms (e.g., web, social, email, display), and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with clarity and care.

The ideal candidate brings energy, curiosity, and a growth mindset--someone who thrives in a high-performing, fast-paced environment and values the opportunity to build relationships while delivering exceptional work. They are detail-obsessed, proactive, and adaptable to shifting client needs.

WCD Creative is an agile, Calgary-based design group operating as part of WCD's Managed Back-Office Services. The team delivers strategic design thinking and exceptional creative solutions with unique end-to-end print and digital production capabilities. As a strategic extension of our customer's marketing teams, WCD Creative focuses on high-impact projects that drive enterprise growth and strengthen long-term relationships. Known for being highly collaborative, innovative and responsive, the team brings creative ideas to life from concept through to execution.

The PD believes in a collaborative, inclusive approach to creative work and models the company's core values: teamwork, integrity, excellence, bravery, creativity, and caring.
