What\'s the job?

Working In a multi-plant and typically resource constrained environment, the junior production planner works with the Production Planning Team to help manage the production scheduling and all related functions. He or she will use all available scheduling tools and resources to most efficiently utilize multiple plants\' resources consistent with sales and production forecasts & customer service objectives.

The position supports the CDN Sales & Operations Planning process by ensuring sales, production, inventory, and cost goals are met on an ongoing basis. The Junior Production Planner works closely with his/her assigned manufacturing plants, as well as the inter-plant planning, customer service, purchasing, transportation, and sales teams at both the central and location level.

  • Daily, weekly, & monthly review of existing and future production schedules and plans
  • Develop and issue production plans & production work orders to the manufacturing plants including stock transfer orders between facilities
  • Performance tracking of Operation for schedule adherence, production volumes, line speeds, down time, and other relevant KPIs.
  • Develop and implement optimization for master production schedules by plant, with consideration for customer demand, plant constraints, materials constraints, operational & freight efficiency, and working capital goals
  • Develop & issue specific forecasts/requirements for critical raw materials to support the manufacturing plants and the purchasing team
  • Participate in various product supply projects such as NPLs, stocking plan assessments, x-plant support planning.
  • Maintain master production planning parameters in SAP
  • Keep informed regarding overall Supply Chain requirements and constraints including Logistics, Customer Service, and Sales issues related to on-time, in-full order fulfillment, and to provide support and guidance.
  • Support tools for the communication of accurate availability details
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

What do you bring?

Critical decision making frequently requires extensive mathematical manipulation to be able to accurately predict the capacity of Operations in terms of shipping, storage volumes, and raw material needs. Production planning decisions are fact based using tools such as history, forecasts, and group management\'s goals & objectives. Supply and production issues require the ability to immediate decisions that affect the overall operation of the facility, as well as the full Supply Chain. This position interfaces and communicates continuously with customer service and production departments to prevent and resolve problems.

To meet this, the role requires:
  • Post-secondary degree or diploma in Logistics, Supply Chain, Engineering, Information Technology, or equivalent experience
  • 1 - 3 years production planning experience and/or equivalent work experience in a related role
  • 1 - 3 years\' experience with warehouse / shipping & production policies, procedures, and operations
  • Experience with SAP Manufacturing & Planning functionality, and MS Office
  • Well organized with excellent written and oral communications skills and a passion for attention to detail
  • Excellent problem solving, negotiating, and \xe2\x80\x9cpeople skills\xe2\x80\x9d
Additional Requirements
  • Experience in a multi-plant planning or distribution environment
  • APICS certification preferred
  • Expertise in SAP ERP, QLIKVIEW reporting, MRP
