Position: Production Associate

Location: MILTON, L9T 5B1
Hours: 12:30-9:00pm
Pay Rate: $23 per hour

The Production Associate is a skilled, organized and energetic individual capable of assembling belts and belt assemblies, rollers, as need by the company, partially or completely, working at a bench or on the shop floor while observing all posted Safety Rules, as directed by your supervisor or manager.
Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Follow the Work Order Instructions, Drawings Information and Production Work Instructions appropriate to the task you are performing and upon completing, double check your work against the information you are required to follow. All company policies are also expected to be followed.
  • Complete the appropriate section of the Quality Inspection Checklist in full and sign off prior to sending the job to the next department. Always ask questions on information you\'re not sure of.
  • Complete your Work Orders by observing the Due Dates listed on your daily department Work Order Due List or as instructed by your Supervisor.
  • Wear the appropriate protection to perform the task at hand by referencing the appropriate Material Safety Sheet for the protection information recommended for the glues, solvents, coatings etc. that are being used.
  • Keep and maintain the cleanliness of your work area and perform a 10 minute clean-up at the end of each day. Clean up the temporary area where you were working before leaving that area. Clean out the company trucks on your arrival back from Installs, pickups or deliveries etc.
  • Report all machinery problems/trouble etc.to the Production Manager.
  • Returns any inventory or shop supplies used to the appropriate shelf or area.
  • Operate appropriate machinery as required, relying on the training you\'ve received and during the performance of your duties, follow all posted machinery \xe2\x80\x9dSafe Operating Procedures\xe2\x80\x9d. Do not operate a machine you\'ve not been trained on.
  • Participate in the Belt Install, Service and On-Call Rotation Program and to assist and/or train new workers. The Customer Service Program is a 24/7 operation whereby an annual schedule is issued to each employee for On Call Customer Belt Installations. These services can take place either during or beyond regular work hours i.e. weekends/after hrs.
  • Must participate in the annual On-Line Health & Safety Training. There are 10-12 Courses to complete either at home or during work hours. All employees undergo this training at the same time, generally in the fall of each year. One month time frame is given to complete all, with each course taking \xc2\xbd hr. to 1 hr. and needing an 80% minimum pass score.
  • Other duties as warranted.
Qualifications:
  • OSSD or equivalency
  • Certified Forklift License an asset
  • Must have 1-3 years\' manual production experience, ideally in the Manufacturing environment
  • Must be mechanically inclined with crafty attention to detail
  • Intermediate MS Office - Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles, an asset
  • Effective use of technology, instruments, tools and information systems
