Pay: $16 - $20/hour depending on experience

Hours: 30-40 hours per week (depending on workload)

Shift: 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM (30 min lunch)

Position Overview:

Arcane Fibre Works is seeking a hands-on, detail-oriented Studio Assistant to support our artisanal yarn dyeing studio. This is a physically active, entry-level role designed for those who want to grow with a creative, craft-focused business. You'll start by learning the essential tasks that keep the studio running--like preparing yarn, maintaining equipment, and assisting with production. With time, dedication, and training, there is opportunity to advance into a full Dyer position, becoming a core part of our creative team.

Key Responsibilities:

You'll be assisting in the heart of the dye studio, including:

Loading and Unloading Dye Pots: Safely placing yarn into hot dye baths and removing it when finished. Rinsing Dyed Yarn: Thoroughly rinsing skeins to remove excess dye while maintaining fiber integrity. Racking Yarn to Dry: Carefully hanging skeins to dry in our designated drying area. Prepping for the Next Day: Setting up supplies and workspaces to ensure smooth operations each morning. End-of-Day Cleaning: Keeping the studio tidy by sweeping, organizing, and resetting workstations daily. Shipping Department Support: Helping with labeling, packing, and preparing orders as needed.
What We're Looking For:

Reliable and self-motivated with a strong work ethic.

Ability to work efficiently and consistently with repetitive tasks.

Good hand-eye coordination and attention to detail.

Comfortable working in a small team and taking direction.

Must be able to lift and move light to medium-weight boxes (yarn shipments).

No previous yarn experience is required, but fibre arts knowledge is a plus!
