Production Assembler 1 works in our production floor, putting parts or components together to form completed products or parts for sub-assemblies. Duties include adding components in the right order, following diagrams and instructions, using tools, such as pliers, tweezers, and electric screwdrivers, using microscopes for detailed work, testing products, checking quality, packing products, and storing them in the correct area.
Production Assembler 1 must have an aptitude for mechanics and an eye for detail. The function is to ensure that all parts and products under their care are in proper working order and meet the quality standards of the company and industry.
Duties and Responsibilities
Produces components by assembling parts and subassemblies.
Assembling and testing all manufactured products prior to being shipped to the customer.
Assisting other Production Assemblers when required.
Performing work in accordance with quality standards and safety procedures.
Maintaining a safe, clean, and organized workspace or assembly station and equipment, including tools by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
Uses hand tools or machines to assemble parts.
Participating in continual training and development.
Follows all existing company policies and procedures.
Authorities and Functions
Technical Authority:
Assembler 1 has the authority to make decisions related to the assembly process, how to read diagrams, follow instructions, and use various tools and equipment correctly.
Quality Control Authority:
Assembler 1 has the authority to reject or flag products that do not meet quality standards.
Process Authority:
Within their assigned tasks, Assembler 1 has the authority to make decisions about the assembly process. This might include determining the most efficient way to complete a task, troubleshooting issues that arise during assembly, and suggesting improvements to the assembly process.
Safety Authority:
Assembler 1 has the authority to enforce safety protocols and procedures within their work area.
Documentation Authority:
Assembler 1 has the authority to ensure that QIF are correctly and completely filled.
Qualifications/Education/Skills
High school diploma or post-secondary education and experience.
Minimum 2 years of assembling and testing experience.
Experience in an electronics manufacturing environment.
Experience with using tools, such as pliers, tweezers, electric screwdrivers, and microscopes.
Strong attention to detail, time management and problem-solving skills.
Adaptable and willing to learn and apply new skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
