Job Description

Packaging Design, Quality Control and Proofing:




Create and adjust artwork files for packaging, in-store signage, B2B outreach, staff training materials and more, ensuring they meet production specifications. Execute new packaging designs based on concept artwork and collaborate closely with cross functional teams to ensure accuracy. Review proofs, color separations, pre prod samples to ensure accuracy w/ approved designs. Prepare and finalize files for printing, including creating dielines. Conduct quality, colour and other checks on final products to ensure alignment with design specifications and brand standards with Printers. Build final design files for internal review and release to vendors.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:




Collaborate with brand, product development, and supply chain teams to align production timelines and product launch schedules. Communication with external vendors, suppliers, and partners to ensure that product specifications are met, and deadlines are adhered to. Collaborate with graphic designers to develop and refine packaging and marketing campaign materials. Work closely with printers and product manufacturers to address any production issues and ensure the final product meets quality standards.

Technical and Project Support




Provide technical support and guidance to other creative team members on design software, production techniques and file preparation. Troubleshoot issues related to artwork, production processes or software ensuring that problems are resolved efficiently. Maintain organized records of design files and production specifications. Support Production Artist in keeping track of project status and updates. Project manage packaging revision, pre-press & production projects.

Other:




Identify opportunities for improving technical and design skills, including automatization tools and 3D rendering. Ensure that packaging design meets all relevant regulatory requirements. Stay informed about industry regulations and standards related to packaging and production processes. Ensure all packaging and marketing materials adhere to the brand's visual identity and messaging guidelines. Ensure the integrity of design intent throughout the production process.



Preferred background




At least 3 years of production design experience within a production/print house/in-house team with CPG experience and a portfolio that shows your packaging work High level of proficiency with the following: Adobe Creative Cloud (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator and Acrobat) and Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word and Excel), MacOs. Comprehensive knowledge of printing processes, proper file creation, keen attention to detail and troubleshooting skills. Comprehensive typographic and layout skills, specialized knowledge of methods and techniques of graphic design, color theory and layout, and high-level execution. Passion for production design and an eye for quality and details.

Notes:




This is a one-year contract located in Richmond, BC. We are in the office Monday/Tuesday/Thursday - and WFH Wednesdays and Fridays. * The base salary will be in the range of $65,000 - $75,000 based on experience.
