This position will be part of our Printing Sector in which the focus is in three areas of print; direct mail, commercial print and our rapidly growing in-store-marketing print (i.e. point of purchase promotional print). As the largest printer in Canada & one of the largest in North-America, you will join a team that is committed to helping everyone excel and reach their goals. The Print division has over 4,500 employees & 16 state-of-the-art print plants. About this opportunity Under the direction of Director, Variable Print, Prepress & Creative Solutions, the Production Artist will build prepress ready art files that comply with in-house protocols. What you will do
- Build accurate prepress ready artwork in an efficient and timely manner;
- Edit high resolution images in Photoshop;
- Manage and organize working files within Transcontinental\xe2\x80\x99s server;
- Follow client brand style guides and maintain consistent files;
- Take direction from the team leads;
- Make logical and creative decisions when working on complex layouts;
- Support and contribute to a healthy and safe work environment by following all workplace regulations, policies, and initiatives, including reporting all first aid injuries, accidents, and workplace hazards.
- Post-secondary education in the graphic arts field;
- Minimum five (5) years production art related experience;
- Strong knowledge of print processes and the direct affect to the artwork;
- Expert skills in Adobe Creative Suite 6 (or better);
- A positive attitude paired with an ability to work independently in a fast-paced team environment;
- Highly organized, creative and logical thinker;
- Strong interpersonal, oral and written communications skills;
- Excellent time management skills;
- Ability to find creative solutions for complex layouts while adhering to client style guides.
