Your role
As a product and underwriting coordinator, you play a pivotal role in the efficient operation of the product and underwriting team. You provide critical support for the daily tasks that enable the company to achieve its product development and underwriting goals. You utilize modern tools and data sources to help the company respond in real-time to changing conditions. As a trusted colleague, you encourage the collection and development of new product and underwriting ideas from stakeholders throughout the organization.

Your responsibilities
Working at Square One, you are directly involved in product and underwriting initiatives. As such, your responsibilities include:
Secure and action feedback from sales and claims teams on current and future products and underwriting, and initiatives.
Continuously monitoring catastrophes (wind, fire, and flood events) and implementing binding suspensions to limit new policy sales during these events.
Supporting the development of product and underwriting training materials and programs.
Supporting the sales, claims, and legal teams with file reviews and document requests.
Provide monthly industry insurance updates.
Cancellation and voiding policies.
Updating and maintaining internal underwriting guides and policy documentation.
Reviewing client policies as part of the back book clean-up project.

Your education + experience
Your experience and education help ensure your success at Square One. For this role, you have:
A minimum of 1 year experience in property insurance underwriting, or 2 years experience as a property insurance advisor may be considered.
A high level of proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
Prior study in business, commerce, economics, or marketing, or equivalent work experience, is an asset.
A CIP or CAIB designation, or active progress toward earning one, is preferred.
Experience or interest in quality assurance and testing is highly desirable.
A general insurance license in your base province, preferably in AB, BC, ON or MB.

Annual salary range of $52,000 up to $71,000.
3 weeks of vacation to start, and an additional week after only 3 years.
