What will you be doing?

1. Product Support

• Generate new work instructions for launch products for production assemblers.
• This includes assembly instructions, cutting lists, painting instructions and test instructions.
• Modify existing work instructions as needed for product updates and ECN\xe2\x80\x99s.
• Coordinate & process Engineering Changes (ECN\xe2\x80\x99s).
• Work with Design Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, and Quality Control to systematically eliminate product deficiencies, reduce product cost, and improve product quality.
• Work with Production and Manufacturing Engineering to identify and develop assembly jigs and fixtures. \xe2\x80\xa2 Ensure that products can be made in a consistent & cost-effective manner by Teknion\xe2\x80\x99s manufacturing & suppliers. \xe2\x80\xa2 Liaise with factory inspectors from UL, CSA, and Intertek for product safety compliance audits. \xe2\x80\xa2 Investigate customer defect claims (TekCare) for validity of the claim and root cause.
• Produce Test Reports for product RGA assessments and new materials/assemblies.
• Investigate work instruction or design/BOM errors identified by production staff and product engineering team. \xe2\x80\xa2 Develop Corrective Action plan to address TekCare claims. customer Product Marketing or other departments as required to ensure that the derived solutions complement the intended look of the product line.
• Work with Purchasing, Production and QA to evaluate requests for Deviations and Concessions. \xe2\x80\xa2 Work with product engineering team to ensure BOM\xe2\x80\x99s are created accurately in our database.
• Process cost reduction or product improvement projects as required.
• Assist with the creation of special products as required.
• Assist with the launch of new products as required.

2. CAD Data Creation/Modification

• Produce/modify SolidWorks CAD models & manufacturing drawings to support ECN projects. \xe2\x80\xa2 Modify existing SolidWorks CAD legacy drawings to support ECN projects.
• Validate accuracy of 3D models.
• Ensure that drawings created have all details required to produce the part and/or assembly.
• Provide quality control of drawing information by checking the work of other group members.

3. Technical Support

• Provide technical support for standard/special products to all Teknion departments and customers. \xe2\x80\xa2 Remain current on product lines, manufacturing capabilities and new production techniques.
• Occasionally perform onsite visits for local TekCare claims to determine root cause of problem and Corrective Action.

What skills, experience and education are we looking for?

• A Mechanical Engineer Degree or Engineering Technologist
• Minimum 2 years hands on experience of product design/support in a Manufacturing Environment \xe2\x80\xa2 Excellent interpersonal skills and communication skills throughout all organizational levels
• Solid understanding of problem-solving techniques
• Hands on Mechanical design experience \xe2\x80\x93 new and existing products
• Working knowledge of Solidworks CAD software
• Experienced in the preparation of detailed drawings to support manufacturing & quality control \xe2\x80\xa2 Excellent knowledge of Engineering processes \xe2\x80\x93 ECN, Drawing Standards and Control, Test Procedures, Report Writing, BOM, etc.
• Working knowledge of Stamping, Machining, Assembly, and Powder Paint Processes would be an asset \xe2\x80\xa2 Experienced in the handling of multiple projects and tasks
• Well developed communications skills (written and oral)
• Experience in Custom Manufacturing would be beneficial.
