Product Support Engineer (Intermediate) - Structures

Location:

London, Ontario, Canada (Relocation Required)



Product Support Structural Engineer is responsible for providing engineering support to production operations, continuing airworthiness, and after-sales. These responsibilities include the disposition of non-conformances, assisting in occurrence investigations, providing technical support, and preparing type design changes related to aircraft structure.



Responsibilities:



Support the senior engineers as required Mentor junior engineers as required Production support through the assessment of manufacturing difficulties including investigation and disposition of non-conformances Support After-Sales activities by providing technical support Prepare type design and/or manufacturing process changes related to aircraft structures to improve quality, safety, and performance of aeronautical products Review engineering change requests and participate in the classification of type design changes Support the design change process through the creation of design data, preparation of certification documentation, and performance of testing as required Develop and review engineering, material, and process specifications Develop and review aircraft structure repair instructions Support Continuing Airworthiness in the review of publications and investigation of occurrences Participate in research and development activities as necessary Other duties as assigned

Skills & Experience:



Relevant Aerospace and Structural Engineering experience ( >5yrs) Experience performing type design changes to aeronautical products Experience with analytical stress methods. Mathcad experience is an asset Experience with the structural analysis cycle, including loads, finite element pre- and post-processing and testing Expertise with Femap, NX Nastran, Patran, MSC Nastran, HyperWorks an asset. Experience with certification testing of composite materials Experience with CATIA V5. AutoCAD / DraftSight or Solid Edge is an asset Proficiency in MS Office products and collaboration tools Delegation experience with a civil aviation authority is an asset Previous MRB authority is an asset Excellent time management skills Capable of independent decision-making Works well within a team environment Able to prioritize tasks based on company needs Knowledge of Airworthiness Manual Chapter 523 Canadian Aviation Regulations is an asset Professional Engineering License is an asset
