Help Shape the Future of Energy. Compass is seeking a Product Specialist \xe2\x80\x93 Power Generation. Reporting directly to the Director, Sales & Marketing, this position is to provide technical support for all power generation opportunities. Working primarily in conjunction with the Sales and Applications group, along with other groups of Compass as required, the candidate will be the main technical support lead for the sales process, determining customer needs and engineering scope.
What You Will Do Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Determination of equipment sizing for power generation equipment.
- Assist in developing appropriate solutions / quotations for opportunities.
- Assist the Sales team as required with power generation opportunities.
- Confirmation of major equipment and critical path components, and reliability of suppliers to meet customer specifications and required delivery schedule.
- Understanding of industry codes and market standards.
- Interface with all operational departments including engineering and production during the project execution phase, transfer of scope and approval drawing assistance.
- Assisting service branches and product support group as required.
- Participation in internal and external clarification and kickoff meetings.
- Development of equipment and module design and pricing for use as standard product.
- Assistance with electrical quoting / estimating and specification review.
- Engineering Diploma or Degree is an asset.
- Minimum 5 years of experience directly related to power generation.
- Must be self-motivated and team oriented.
- Must have the ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Superior organizational and time management skills with the ability to set priorities, multi-task and meet deadlines.
- Competent with applicable industry specific OEM software
- Excellent customer service skills, interpersonal, organizational and communication skills.
- Requires employee to sit for long periods of time.
- Must be able to occasionally lift or carry objects weighing up to 10 pounds.
