This is where you come in, as a Product Quality Specialist (Defects, Damages & Returns) , you'll play a crucial role in analyzing and interpreting product defects, damages, and customer returns, investigating and identifying quality trends to assist in driving continuous improvement.




• Please note you will need to be available for evening meetings with our Asia Team when needed- approximately 2 nights a week during the hours of 5-7 pm PDT

This position ensures that Article's furniture products meet our quality standards by working closely with the Vendor Quality Team (VQT), Quality Assurance, Quality Compliance, Technical Product Development, Customer Service, and Supply Chain teams. The ideal candidate can organize and interpret quality data, has excellent communication skills, and has experience in the field of quality control, product testing, or customer service within the furniture or retail industry. The Quality and Compliance function consists of Particles located in both Vancouver and Vietnam.



We are a hybrid team - you'll be in the office 3 days per week (add days if set).### What You'll Do:



• Organize and interpret quality data (Defects, Damages & Returns) to identify product defects, quality issues, or safety concerns and recurring product issues.
• Provide data-backed reporting to internal Quality Function, Category Management, and Product partners on solution options and recommendations.
• Evaluate return reasons, defect patterns, and failure rates to assess furniture quality.
• Work with Warehouse & Logistics teams to inspect returned furniture for manufacturing defects, transit damage, or assembly issues.
• Coordinate with internal Quality Function and Supply Chain on product defects and request corrective actions.
• Partner with Compliance Function to determine if product recalls or safety warnings are necessary.
• Support the development of product CAPAs based on the results of the quality data.
• Document best practices and lessons learned, as well as ensure that any changes to products or manufacturing processes are fully documented and owned by the correct function.



### Who You Are:



• 3+ years of experience in Quality Assurance, Customer Service, or Product Returns in furniture, retail, or manufacturing industries.
• Strong Sheets/Excel skills for reporting findings.
• Nice to have - Familiarity with ANSI/BIFMA, ASTM furniture standards, and consumer product safety regulations (CPSC, Health Canada, Prop 65) is a bonus.
• Nice to have - Experience with customer claims, quality control, and QMS/CRM software
• We use G Suite (Gmail, Sheets, Google Docs, Meet, etc) to work and Slack to collaborate and communicate.
• Legally able to work in Canada
• Completion of criminal background check
