The Product Quality Engineering Technician is a key part of both the Operations and Marketing team. The individual should possess a strong work ethic, be technically driven and have a positive team attitude. If you love all aspects of product quality and product development, have strong interpersonal skills and integrity, we encourage you to apply. Bonus if you have Six Sigma experience and have worked in a lab.

Requirements



Degree in chemical engineering, manufacturing, quality management or a related field 2-5 years of quality assurance and process improvement experience in a manufacturing environment Experience in the printing industry preferred Strong knowledge of quality management systems, (Lean Six Sigma) Proficiency in data analysis tools and methodologies for process optimization and quality control Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills to effectively work with cross-functional teams Proven ability to drive change through project management, inspire a culture of continuous improvement and implement best practices Understands how to communicate in depth technical information to non-technical people effectively Ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications and technical standards High accuracy and attention to detail Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple ongoing projects Energetic, personable, and ready to work in a dynamic and deadline-driven environment Must be available for overnight travel outside of Canada to attend industry conferences and corporate meetings

Responsibilities



Oversee all aspects of quality assurance and control processes within the manufacturing environment to ensure adherence to standards and regulatory requirements Identify, develop and implement process improvement strategies to streamline manufacturing operations, reduce waste, and enhance productivity while maintaining or improving product quality Establish and enforce quality assurance standards, policies and procedures in alignment with industry regulations and company objectives Conduct root cause analysis for quality issues, implement corrective and preventative actions and drive initiatives to prevent reoccurrence Collaborate with suppliers to ensure the quality of incoming materials/components and implement processes to monitor and improve supplier performance Perform and maintain accurate documentation of quality tests, procedures, and results, and prepare comprehensive reports on results and present findings to management Lead internal and external quality audit FSC by scheduling, gathering data, circulating summary and following up as required Manage and control calibration process measuring instruments Work with marketing on developing new products and materials Scientifically measure product for use in the manufacturing process Work with customer service on inquiries, product concerns and abilities, including certifying CONEG, REACH, RoHS and proposition 65 Stay updated on industry regulations, standards and best practices to ensure compliance and facilitate necessary adjustments in manufacturing processes Foster a culture of quality consciousness and continuous improvement Write and/or update Standard Operating Procedures Read and interpret Safety Data Sheets Adhere to safe work practices, instructions and rules, and perform work duties in a manner that ensures the health and safety of all employees Other tasks and special projects as assigned
