We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Product Quality Engineer. Primary responsibilities are to participate in APQP activities and support the manufacturing process to ensure that products and processes meet quality and regulatory standards by applying engineering principles to the entire product lifecycle.
Responsibilities:
Develop and implement Quality Management Systems:
Create and update the quality procedures following standards like ISO 9001, IATF 16949, ISO 17025, ISO 17034. Associate process design and control plan development.
Process Monitoring and Improvement:
Monitor production processes for conformance to control plans and customer requirements, identify issues, implement continuous improvement projects.
Problem Solving & Root Cause Analysis:
Handle non-conforming materials and customer complaints for manufacturing quality. Utilize problem-solving techniques (e.g., 8D, FMEA, 5 Why) to investigate and determine root causes and implement effective corrective and preventive actions.
Testing and Inspection:
Develop test plans, design and conduct validation testing, create inspection instructions, diagnostic procedures, conduct or support product and process testing and inspection (incoming, in-process, final, first article inspection).
Documentation and Auditing:
Manage quality documentation, control records, develop work instructions, translate quality engineering requirement into operation protocol to ensure compliance with standards and regulations. Train production staff on work instructions & procedures and use of gauges / fixtures.
New Product Support:
Participate in Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) and Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) submissions to ensure quality is designed into new products and processes from the start. Conduct manufacturing feasibility & process capability studies. Perform initial process studies including assembly and testing.
Qualifications / Education:
Bachelor Degree in Engineering or Applied Science in Electrical & Electronics, Mechatronics or equivalent.
3- 5 years experience in similar role
Knowledge of manufacturing principles, practices and processes. Knowledge of interpretation of blueprints, specifications, schematic. Understand engineering design, failure analysis, metrology.
ISO 9001 work experience is required. IATF16949 experience is an asset.
Proficient in Microsoft Office
Possess excellent oral and written communication skills
