We currently have an opportunity for a Product Owner to join our IT team in Steinbach or Winnipeg! As the Product Owner you will support the delivery and optimization of SCU's digital platform(s) and enterprise technology solution(s). This role acts as a bridge between business and technology teams, ensuring digital products and integrations align with strategic priorities and deliver exceptional user experiences.


Specific Responsibilities




Execute and maintain the product roadmap, ensuring alignment with stakeholders and business goals Own and manage the product backlog--translating business priorities into well-defined user stories, requirements, and acceptance criteria Act as the primary liaison between business users and technical teams, translating complex technical concepts into clear, accessible language Monitor digital KPIs and leverage analytics tools to assess performance and identify improvements Maintain current documentation of workflows, dependencies, and system processes Support sprint planning and participate in QA/testing activities Coordinate cross-functional teams and manage vendor relationships to deliver digital features and solutions Apply change management principles and continuous improvement practices to enhance processes Partner with SCU business units to optimize digital platforms for user experience and operational efficiency Stay informed about digital innovation, competitor capabilities, and emerging technologies to provide strategic insights and contribute recommendations that drive digital engagement and operational efficiency Organize and prioritize competing demands effectively to meet deadlines and deliverables Solve problems and make decisions with a strong member-centric focus

Qualifications




Post-secondary education in Business, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent combination of education and experience) 3-5 years of experience in a product, business analysis, or project coordination role, ideally in a financial or technology-driven environment Understanding of agile software development, digital delivery pipelines, and DevOps practices Proven ability to manage projects and drive execution Experience working with digital platforms, integrations, and enterprise systems (e.g., CRM, digital banking, middleware, analytics) Proficiency with tools such as Jira, Confluence, or equivalent for backlog and requirements management (considered an asset)
