The Product Owner (THC) will be responsible for managing the strategy and execution of designated categories within the THC product portfolio. This will include strategic research, team direction, strategy creation, management of project milestones/costs, execution of project deliverables, and more.
Role Responsibilities
Oversee product innovation projects, creating business proposals for key internal stakeholders and highlighting all requirements to take innovation products from inception to launch
Support the creation and execution of the product portfolio strategy and roadmap
Conduct market research and consumer interviews to develop summaries and fact-based reports that drive strategic decisions for the business
Work directly with sales and marketing to identify potential product opportunities from a product offering, pricing, and service perspective
Seek product launch opportunities and analyze potential return on investment with existing customers
Develop and manage project budgets for designated categories within the THC product portfolio
Provide support to sales and marketing teams for strategic discussions, proposals, product updates, service items, and more
Ownership of product launch process and handoff to key departments
Ownership of product milestones and execution with support from Project Managers and technical resources
As the key decision maker, provide Project Managers with direction in their strategic initiatives
Responsible for effective communication with internal and external teams on project status, updates/changes, and general progress against key metrics/milestones
Develop effective reporting and summaries on product success and conduct product review meetings with key stakeholders to assess overall success, costs, metrics, and more.
Provide support for product compliance and regulatory items

Requirements
Formal Education or Equivalent
Bachelor's Degree (BA) in STEM or Business Management
Years of Experience
Minimum five (5) years of experience in product management within hardware/SKU product industries
Minimum three (3) years of experience in product strategy, commercialization, and innovation within the Cannabis or Nicotine industries
Specialized skills, knowledge, or certifications unique to this role
In-depth knowledge of and/or experience in Cannabis or Nicotine vaping market trends, regulations, and compliance.
Experience with product development life cycle and commercializing of hardware/SKU products
Familiarity with cannabis extraction processes, formulations, or manufacturing of vape products
Understanding of quality standards and testing protocols for vape products
Having a CannSell license is an asset
